People's Republic of Disco - 15th October 2005

it seems we'll be without Wolfie and Shirl for this PROD, which is a damned shame.. :(

however, i believe Comrade Monkeybars will be making her debut in the Vinyl Cloakroom and rumours are rife of an invasion by a bunch of inbred East Anglian knuckledraggers.

(waves to aunty foo :) )

so i'd stay in if i were you.

This clashes with a Guns n' Roses tribute band I was planning to see with a couple of non-urban mates.

What's a man to do?

I know, I'll ask Hollis. :)

Meanwhile, earlier in the day...............

CIVILISE THE CITY
MIDDAY, SATURDAY 15TH OCTOBER 2005
Civilise the City will commence at the statue of Beau Brummell on Jermyn Street. After a quick visit to David Saxby, for any last-minute sartorial advice, we shall proceed along Jermyn Street in an easterly direction, turning left and strolling up the Regent Street until Oxford Circus, whence we shall march along the Oxford Street until reaching its conclusion at Tottenham Court Road. The final leg of this exhaustive saunter will take us down the Charing Cross Road, with a brief pause at G. Smith & Sons to stock up on tobaccotine products, concluding at the premises of Mr. Lorenzo, whose New Picadilly Cafe on Denman Street will provide much-needed victuals and permission to smoke our pipes.
Those who wish to take part should assemble at the Beau Brummell memorial on Jermyn Street, London SW1 on Saturday 15th October at midday. Please bring elegant clothing, a stout cane and a doffable hat.

The latest edition of The Chap looks particularly interesting too, containing as it does " a lengthy exploration into the frightening world of popular music, to see whether it has anything to offer the gentleman" - most intriguing.

will we?

i think you can go if you want my darling, as i am el skintio

i shall be the babysitter :)
