do people who are actually in one band, but have guested on another band's tracks count?

i dont reckon thats what the op meant. otherwise people like Snoop would have been in dozens of bands

and thats just schnizel

(beat me to it ^^^... you're right though. they're not really bands are they?)

if that's the rule, the whole thread becomes meaningless because of session men. Think of the Motown and Stax house bands - they played on fucking everything

yeah true. so would you say kevin shields was a valid one as i think he only played live with primal scream?

Ritchie Blackmore- The Outlaws/ Deep Purple/ Rainbow/ Blackmore's Night.

Ok some of these could be stretching the definition of the word "great" but each had it's moments.

Jack White - White Stripes/Raconteurs
Didz Hammond - Cooper Temple Clause/Dirty Pretty Things
Slash - G n' R/Slash's Snakepit/Velvet Revolver (settles that one!)
Scott Gorham - Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver
Tom Morello - RATM/Audioslave
Mike Bordin - Faith No More/Black Sabbath

terry hall, neville staples and lynden golding
specials and then fun boy three.....(fun boy three are ripe for reappraisal imo)

and then terry was in the colourfield who had a couple of great songs.

Maggots just a grumpy old man and ever since I posted that picture of his heart being broken when Charlton scored an equaliser to send Palace out of the premier league he's been disagreeing with everything I say :D :p
That picture was taken during a Palace - Southampton game. We played Charlton the following week. :p

Okay first danm you drew for getting chris cornell in i thought(was shocked) that i might get that down first.

Kirst nolhvevefjf was never in foo fighters. Nate mendel has always been thier bass player. The neptunes ain't a band they are a production duo, they don't perform as the neptunes and have never released anything other then clones as the neptunes.

Chris shiflet- No use for a name/foo fighters
Nick ovileri- jyruss/queens of stoneage
Twiggy Ramerez- Marilyn Manson/ A perfect circle
Melissa auf de mar- Hole/Smashing Pumpkins
Maynard James Keenan- A perfect circle/tool
Travis Barker- Blink182/box car racer/ transplants
Matt Sorum- The cult/ Guns n roses/slash's snamkepit/ velvet revolver
Dr dre- N.W.A/ The firm
Vinne paz- Jedi mind tricks/ army of pharoahs

that will do.

I left that out 'cos somebody (-probably Savage Henry!) had already mentioned it.

Thee Headcoats, Thee Pop Rivets, The Musicians of the British Empire etc etc etc

Yep, I honestly nearly just put 'Billy Childish ~ every band EVER!'...

:)

Apart from brief stints onstage, I'm surprised that the Elephant 6 collective isn't brimming full of moonlighters and multi-band members. I always imagined all the various line-ups were all bleeding into each other, but it seems not. A confusing scene! :D

Jeff Mangum ~ Olivia Tremor Control/Neutral Milk Hotel

Will Cullen Hart ~ Olivia Tremor Control/Circulatory System

Bill Doss ~ Olivia Tremor Control/Apples In Stereo

And yes, they're all 'great bands'. -Well, I think so, anyway... ;)
