People who used to maintain they weren't that bothered about Glastonbury

You didn't specify the main stages. Even if you did you would still be wide of the mark with your stated 11pm curfew.

OK its 12am then?

Seems like a shitty deal when only a select few smaller tents have anything going on after that.

Even the Dance Stage closes. Midnight should be when it all starts kicking off.

You just pre-determined to be negative and snipey, aren't you?

You're not going, cool, works for you. Why be so miserable and embittered?

William - SHUT UP!

Who's being negative? I'm simply saying that the entertainment lacks somewhat due to the licensing regulations - for that reason I'm not going (amongst other things)

I'm not miserable. I'm happy about saving the three hundred odd quid it would probably cost. See. That's me ---> :)

and couldn't be arsed with going.

You're more excited than I am about it now, admit it.

You know who you are :hmm:

Erm, nope :D Really happy I'm not going, I've blown the money I usually do on Glasto on two other much smaller and more practically scheduled festies.

No it hasnt. I remember going to the glade at 2am and it being banging till at least 4.

Now its no better than V in terms of turning music off early, well, I suppose the dont herd you like fucking cattle back to the campsites and loom over you in prison style guard towers but its still shit.

I assume Tort was referring to main stages.

6am license for the cluster of about 12 stages in the south east.

How many stages run until dawn at other festivals?

Even the big chill has a fucking 24h cafe with tunes in.

Last year 1am at glasto, the whole place was just full of gurned up people wandering around trying to find somewhere to go, it was a fucking joke. Even the hari krishna tent was packed.

I really don't understand the issue with the line up. Compared to some recent years I think it's fucking good. The best bit being Coldplay doesn't feature.

That's what I think too :)

there's more people playing that I want to see than I can ever remember

Please read the posts I was responding to before you start going off on an irrelevant tangent!

I'm the first to agree that there has been less going on after hours at the last couple of festivals but this year there will actually be considerably more venues for late night revelry so your points are not only wildly inaccurate but also obsolete.

Ah, sorry :D

i bought a ticket as they hadnt sold out and my brother hasnt been, going to shove a g of mdma up my arse and see what happens

You'll be on the floor gurning your face off not knowing whats going on for a few hours then you'll wake up having missed all the music and just want to go to sleep :)

Try 150mg ;)

Well if you've never been you wouldn't have a clue and tbh if the only festival experience I'd ever had was Reading I don't think I'd ever go back cos it's shit.

Rip off in what way? Unlike Reading & all the commercial greedfests you're completely free to bring your own food & drink & there are no hidden extras like £12 for a programme etc. So basically once you've funded your ticket (£155 for 5 whole days) you don't actually have to spend a solitary penny while you're there.

could the people who aren't going anyway and have therefore spectacularly missed the self evident point of my opening post please stop being so dim and go away?

ta.

If I didn't already reply to this thread -

( am slightly tipsy) yes,I thought I didn't care.

carried it off right thru registration , didn't bother.

Found out it hadn't sold out - started fretting - weakened -bought ticket - checked tent (AT LEAST A MONTH AGO!)

now melted down to low level weather frettage..................

satisfied ? :D:D:D

Yeah, you're another one alongside Tanky.

There are others as well...

:hmm:

;)

i wasn't bothered about glastonbury, but sort of am now but only cos the wife is going. unfortuantely i haven't got the moeny or leave from work to be able to go, so i'll just have to stay at home and watch it on telly, whilst doing a little make-it-sunny dance all the time for you all.
