Postlethwaite & Self both great suggestions we haven't had before. I see no reason why a woman shouldn't be the doc, but still haven't thought of one who'd be really good at it

So if Doc was a woman then she would have male assistants or be lesbos??

you could really mix it up...![]()
if RTD was still writing, we can be sure she'd be completely multi-sexual.
Scenes with Rose would be very interesting - and would certainly increase the adolescent male viewers
has the doc ever had a gay encounter???
the first three weren't the real Doctor then?
Excellent suggestion! Well it's the only one that's made me laugh, anyway, El Jefe
i think a dalek gave him an anal probe once, does that count?

For some reason, I think the guy who played the butler in Fresh Prince of Bel Air would make a really good older, dry-humoured Dr. His name's Joseph Marcell and he has a strong Shakespearean background which might set him up well for the grandstanding:

He'd be ace - he's got the manic energy and intensity, he looks like a jovial vampire, he's made for it

I reckon kriss marshal has that similar edge, but self has that extra intellectual edge that makes him come across like a stuck up twat at times, i dont think that would work![]()
Self would be perfect BECAUSE he does that kind of aloof thing, the best Drs have always had that
ok then a posh white guy
The next Doctor should be decided by a Saturday evening show called Who on Earth? hosted by Graham Norton, and each week the potential Doctors have to sing a song from Grease, do some ice skating, cook a meal they've designed themselves and so on. Tom Baker would be one of the judges.
Can't we just regenerate Tom Baker?

Your entire post just whooshed over my head Sweaty Betty...I haven't had a TV for years, so I either know people from radio, days of yore or have read about them somewhere.....
