'People are paying £20 to run around council estates for bants'

On a more serious note, part of the problem would be that those taking part run round a lot closer to any rooms than they could do if they were running past places with even the smallest of front gardens.

Even if you strip out the disgusting class element there is something really weird about people paying money to act like children, why are people so desperate to regress to childish things like this?

I'm more worried about the stupid fucking expression on the face of the woman next to her. Looks like it's the most fun she's had since she tortured that kitten to death when she was six.
Agreed, these cunts must have had a boring childhood and have been just let off the leash.

Brought up by a nanny, shoved off to private education and repressed.

The people going to this look a lot like the sorts of people going to that sober morning rave thing, maybe a bit younger

These runs don't take place exclusively on council estates. Big fuss over some joggers, although it is a bit off putting a checkpoint inside a stairwell, the organisers said that was a cockup.

I don't understand the bile around this non story, just people having fun if you can call it that.

It can't be long now this article is out that proper 'welcoming committees' are entrepreneurial enough to relieve them of their iPhones (other phones are available) and purses/wallet/fitbit etc to help them run faster.

Maybe even charge them a tenner for the privilege.

It's like Harry Enfield 'I saw you coming' shop all over again

It's about privilege, a lack of empathy with those struggling on low incomes and a total lack of respect for their space. Does that help you understand?

We're talking about public streets right?

"However, 11 of the checkpoints in its Hammersmith game are located inside council residences where people are currently living – meaning players are encouraged to run around outside people’s homes.

One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told Metro.co.uk: ‘Members of the public were nervous about seeing the “guards” in hi-viz jackets and “security” hats chasing people, and players were running around mothers with prams.

‘One of the checkpoints was in a residential stairwell, while another was on the side of a place of worship.

I wonder if this story has been sown to give housing associations more justification for fencing and gating estates or something? Seems like there is one single complainant.

What do they mean by "inside council residences" other than the one in the stairwell which is totally out of order the others would still be on public streets wouldn't they? or are they running around in the communal garden area?

there are lots of little streets/car parks etc within estates that are private, as well as garden areas, grass bits, bin yards etc etc.

But they don't mean running round inside building as far as i can tell, no.

Possibly the stairwells ?

Yeh but there is nothing about anyone running through a stairwell... and I am sure they would have mentioned it if it happened.

I am just suspicious of these kind of stories that appeal to knee-jerk reactions but might have malign purpose behind them.
