Pendulum - win/fail?

I like Hold Your Colour, and I don't really listen to much drum and bass so fair enough to firky's comment. I don't think much of the new stuff though tbh.

it's dnb for people who don't like dnb.

I remember saying exactly that on a similar thread and being abused for being a snob!
Lulz. :D

well it is a snobbish comment, to be fair. and dumb too, especially so when you have people on this thread who like drum n bass saying they like pendulum :)

Tarantula = Win
The rest = Meh-->Fail

what about "back 2 u"??! an absolutely fantastic piece of dnb :cool:

to me, pendulum's stuff is sort of in the same vein as "shot down on safari" bad comany, but whereas BC did it brilliantly, pendulum...do not.

the thing is, is that their first album was pretty much after/as they were going crap anyway. some of the stuff they were doing about two years before the album came out was really fucking good drum and bass. half their good stuff never even made it onto the album as they went more in favour of more poppy, rocky stuff that would sell lots of records. and it did

I didnt make the effort to catch them last year at Glastonbury and that was my one regret. I really quite like them, but I dont know much about DnB only that I like what I like iykwim....

I saw 10 mins of them at glasto. The sound was wonderful, but I had to leave - the whole tent was full of kids who were singing along to the lead synth. "Do do dee do de dooo dooo" etc. It got really annoying really quickly.

Also, Pitchshifter did it better ten years back.

[/DnB snob]

all the songs sound the same..

good intros and middle eights..

then its the same D&B snyth lines and shit drumbeat..

yawn

They've been failing since Vault. I really can't understand how people can find them fascinating, they just churn out watered-down, annoying tunes

tarantula rules. heard to much to enjoy, but it still rules.
and fasten your seatbelt always gets me dancing like a crazy mad thing. definitely win!
(and i love drum n bass).

agreed... plus pendulum were wicked live at glasto (even with the very annoying kids)... cross between dnb and metal. genius.
