You MD needs to go on some training on how to handle people, to be honest. The things he said to you are not very professional at all.

Where I work all managers are required to attend management courses, as a result they are very objective when they talk to us and never get personal.

Today he was priceless to one of my colleagues. This chap asked if he could explain why his payrise and bonus had been so low this year.

The MD said it was because he hadn't delivered anything (his line manager actively stopped him from completing the project and bullied him whenever he could, and the former MD wouldn't do anything to stop it) but that they had been impressed by the way he stood up to his line manager in defence of his project.

Total management bollocks.
