You have to have been there for some of the live performances
One of my favs , he could do some nice guitar stuff live after the Style council but hes always been a bit special live imo
So long though its Shadows of the Sun in full live 10mins or so but the improv on 2nd part really nice live guitar work I think , especially where I was in The Civic Wolves , one of the best Weller concerts for me since his Jam days the sound around the hall for his feedback guitar tone wont come over so well here though but it was like being at a Neil Young concert that night and the build up over that 10mins was something a bit magical that Ive rarely felt at a concert , was pretty chuffed when it appeard on the dvd from that very concert complete with all the squeals .
As for the Style Council the Coventry Apollo CND benefit gig will go down as another "moment" much better live than the albums
Have to admit though Im not a fan of his last album and new ones a bit patchy but got to give it to him he trys a lot of different influences and directions still and live he still packs em out and leaves everyone happy , still a bloody hard working performer imo and a much much better live .
The Mod days of the Jam will always be special though more anger and excitement.

i think wild wood and his association with steve craddock was the start of the dad rock phase. the eponymous album and movement stuff was loads better.
