Hynurrrr! Where's all my serotonin gone?

:)

.

And the music was better... unlike the recycled shite of today we were there the first time. :)

R&S Records. Say no more.

Sorry but Stakker Humanoid still ranks high for me, for the unrelenting onslaught of beats and the way it changed the direction of the music - it set the benchmark way higher than the Detroit stuff.

objection m'lud.

actually, i never liked 'humanoid' - dunno why really, just never did it for me.

baby ford 'oochy koochy' is class though, and sure he did a really amazing and very larry heard-esque track called 'flowers' too.

that said, does anyone remember those videos of ...woah! like mental trippy acid graphics maaaan - we'ren't they called 'stakker eurotechno' or 'the acid baron show' something. they were pretty cool. fractals and solarised film of rides dancing about n stuff. :)

At least us old schoolers were enjoying our scene way before having to share it with these cunts...

Yep, used to use those regularly at the clubs - along with the Doctor Devious videos, turned out he was Guru Josh!!

x

just remembered there was another 'rave/acid visuals' video that came out around then that rejoiced in the bizarre title 'acid dictators' and consisted of solarised footage of hitler, mussolini and idio amin etc doing their thang while fractals buzzed about the screen and someone plonked away on a xylophone in the background.

from a conceptual or marketing angle, just weird....

The sound track to the Stakker Eurotechno vid was released on Rephlex a fews ago. Pretty good stuff but the tracks are all very short.

I've got a copy of it. :D It's actually really shit!
There was a concept behind it, but it too was shit.

(I used to do the visuals for clubs like the Rocket on Holloway Road, way back circa '91/'92, so I had a library of that sort of stuff plus my own, for mixing live)

thought i knew all the fsol aliases:eek: i think i might still have the free poster u got with the first Amorphous Androgynous lp rolled up round at my mums, the computer graphics still look mint:D

could never understand why that 'papua new guinea' track was so popular. always found it monumentally dull. then again, i find most records that don't have 'video clash' samples in them fairly dull.

IMO thee most amazing song in the history of civilisation.

"often imitated, never duplicated"

:)

as an unashamed 1987-89 Chicago House purist and fanatic I still think paul Rutherford (yes, he of Frankie Goes To Hollywood fame)'s 'Get Real' is thee best acid track to ever come out of the UK:

A few other contenders spring to mind - Nexus 21, Adrenalin MOD, that first 12" by The Beloved and others i can't remember at present.

Anyone got a better suggestion or any others i've forgotten. Pre 1990 obviously and none of that, uuughh ... "acid techno" twaddle please :(

Never heard that before today, but it sounds just like 'breed' by Humate (Summer of 89 Mix).

You can hear it on one of my mixes in the DJ mix thread, but if you want a clip, check this.

Humate - Breed (Summer of 89 Mix)

Every once in a while I wonder why I was going off to see bands like the Pixies, Throwing Muses or Green on Red at the end of the 80s instead of out at a club or a rave.

You just reminded me... Does nothing for me at all :o :hmm:

and talking of acid , i scored a copy of THIS holy grail in tokyo last month:

it's a bootleg pressing but fuck paying £400+ for an original
