Pat leaving the Albert (farewell party Sat 17th)

I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who has helped, tolerated and been there for me over the last 4 years.. It was such a huge challenge taking over the mantle from Pat Burke. I have, for many years, moved around the country and have found it difficult to settle anywhere.. Until i came here.. full marks to Brixton and everything it offers. I consider it now, and always will, HOME. The Albert is a place I have always dreamed of runinng.. And it was my honour to do so. As we all know you have to be of a certain ilk to settle here, so I'm hoping that things will never change.. even if its just in my little corner of Brixton!"!"! I dont want to rattle on and for those of you who were here on Saturday last will certainly know i am no orator! once again cheers and see you on Saturday if you can make it. ( by the way.. not drinking too much as I am driving on Sunday.. but will be there all night.. cheers guys.

Wonderful post, pat! It'll be ..... emotional ;) to see you leave. But good luck with it all mate, you've been an inspiration and very tolerant and easy going :o AND you restored nice ale in the Albert!

I was there last week and had a good time only downside of the night was meeting a hun from Saltcoats who gave me a rendition of the Billy Boys.

Thought the Messengers of God were really good I'd never even heard of them before. Alabama 3 turning up was a bonus as well.
