I'm appalled at the terrible reactions to what seems like a very nice sarnie.

I bet you lot would criticise mashed potato sarnies, too.

Nice bit of toasted bread, butter, mash, black pepper... mmm

Yetman, I like apple between bread too. but I like it with a little petit filous spread over the bread as opposed to butter or marj etc.. then sliced apple and grated applewood cheese over that.

yummy.

best thread ever this!

Not sure if I should say this here, but me and a mate once had e sandwiches. :D

E sandwiches? I always try not to eat before taking e but that sounds like something for the weekend. Might give it a whirl :D

And yeah the apple thing - I first discovered that when I was about 10. I got some really cold red apples, sliced thinly and served with nutella on white bread.

Refreshing, nutritious, filling and a main meal and dessert in one

Now that max has mentioned carbonara pasta...

Does 'carbonara' make anyone else think of burnt pasta rather than egged-up pasta?

carbonara is so called because, made correctly, the pepper ground into the sauce looked like coal dust. so any recipe for carbonara taht missed out the pepper is totally wrong.

Ahhh I see.

'carbonara' makes me think of charcoal. that's why I thought of burnt pasta. tbh I don't think it's a very appetising name for a meal...

mind you, i LOVE bubble-and-squeek-with-a-fried-egg-on-top sarnies, loads of salt and pepper, slightly toasted bread, runny egg.

FUCKING CHRIST

:) :) :)
