Party Frocks Ahoy!

vivien's sizes are very small...

i have many many dresses. i love getting dressed up. i would get dressed up for offline, but the last few have involved me having a friday night dash back from work in worthing, only stopping at home to pick up records.

I've never worn a party frock :(

I just never find one to suit and I dread Christmas partys etc , oooh lets bring out the black trousers again.

It makes me feel horrible about myself. PAH!

I only started wearing frocks last year because I just didn't feel feminine enough. I'm glad I did though, I think you just have to try on everything and find a style that suits. I'm lucky that dresses where the skirt starts just under the bust are available and 50's style dresses. They look ok on me (I think)

If I had the money I'd go on one of those day courses where they show you what colours/styles suit you. Would save me a fortune and some heartache I think :D

I want the halloween one with skulls and crossbones on it. Not want. Possibly need. A need that is actually bordering on desperation. But it is only available in size 12. And I am skint. :(

It's called PIRATE.

No, that's how many they have.

I've got a skull and crossbones dress, otherwise I'd be very tempted by that one, could wear it with my halloween irregular choices! :o:D

lots of repro / retro stuff around. less vintage, but it's there if that's what you want. ebay is a starting point. what's your budget?
I don't go by budget if I'm after something. I just look and find something I like/want although....I can't afford hundreds of pounds!

There are some good vintage shops on Columbia Road and Brick Lane. Or try curvygirlvintage.com.

Ohmy! Ty!

Blimey, I thought mine had gone South but that's a bit much ;) I've got the Office-Xmas-party-must-find-a-dress misery too. Normally you wouldn't catch me anywhere near a thread titled like this one, and the whole trauma is compounded by me utterly hating shopping, especially clothes shopping, and even more so if it's clothes for me.

Does anyone who loves clothes shopping want to be my personal shopper?

*crying smiley*

want, want, want

I never wear dresses, but this winter I have been invited to the theatre by the boyfriend's parents and I might be spending christmas with them so I thought I should have a nice dress. I just bought this little beauty in red on ebay :)
