I saw that outside with about six people crammed onto it somehow, all of them looking very pleased with themselves. Sorry to miss you, Bang. We were lightweights and left in the morning - we had to come round enough to be at Mation's Mum's for tea.

This is awesome! I'm out of London at the mo and was going to do a thread asking for NYE party pics but lost my nerve - thanks so much to everyone who added something! 
The party looks like such a laugh... makes me sad I had to be stranded in a mates living room several thousand miles away and not there

A Guyanese stew with some really tender oxtail - lovely. Black pudding - very nice but there was rather a lot of it. I thought the security was absolutely brilliant. I'm sure there must have been a few problems (a friend's bag was nicked for instance) but the morning was missing that really nasty feeling of imminent violence you can get sometimes when no-one is on the door anymore.sam/phallocrat said:biggup to the organisers though

Although, it must be said, my mum's traditional Guyanese New Years Day celebration used to be a real problem. Over forty relatives, ridiculously strong garlic pork and the world's biggest breakfast, all served on New Years day at 11.30 in the morning. Even copious rum couldn't save me.
Thankfully it was moved to the 30th this year.
