paranormal Activity getting its release

The only 2 things I am hearing about this film are either it's shit or it's really good.

Marmite film it seems.

No doubt there're clips of cinemagoers screaming and losing their popcorn, but yeah it didn't do it for me aside from one scene involving a foot outside the bedcovers which was nicely done.

There were loads of people screaming when I saw it.

We must be soft in Milk and Beans :(

My teen saw this last night and she had to come and sit in my bedroom until she managed to unscare herself.

She's still been banging on about how scary it was tonight! :D

But it really, really, really isn't. It's boring. NOTHING happens.

A good demonstration of hysteria being contagious.

So it is like The Blair Witch Project then? I was a teen when I saw it and it didn't scare me one bit so I doubt this film, especially given the fact I physically can't suspend my disbelief when it comes to "paranormal" activity.

A lot might depend on age and what you've seen; I was brought up on Evil Dead/Halloween/Exorcist/Elm Street etc which I watched as a real young'un in the early to mid 80s (all of which scared the fuck out of me of course which was ace!) so these days it has to be pretty out there to give me the willies.

Sounds like I grew up at the same time as you, all those films I thought weren't scary in the slightest, even at the time.

Horses for courses I suppose.

I quite liked it, I dunno why the majority hate it so much, people were screaming their asses off I don't see how it's a bad film, the guy spent $500,000 and made $100 million in return, not bad!

Ah, see The Blair Witch Project freaked me out. The bit at the end, beautifully done.

Oooh, dont remind me of that bit at the end  Walking to my downstairs bathroom, is very much like the route to the room in the last bit of that film

Have decided to give this film a big swerve, even tho most are saying it's shit. My house is just too rickety and old, and I am too much of a whoos. :(

it freaked me out too. although that may have been because I was completely stoned, and therefore completely engrossed in it.

The walk back home across the park afterwards was *interesting* too. i don't think i've ever done it so fast.

Alas, I won't be watching this...mrs hektik doesn't like scary films.

Westlife sell millions of albums. Does that make them good too? Nope!

Just seen thiswith the daughter who was in tears she was so scared . i enjoyed it - a slow build up and more unnerving than I first realised(came home to a cold dark house....). Not bad for a beginner and my type of film.

I can't stand thes gore-fests that pass as scary these days(grump mode).

The last twenty minutes was watchable, but fuck me does it take a lifetime to get there!

Lots of teens screaming in the cinema but nothing that made me jump.

All in all I wouldn't recommend.

It was crap, the last twenty minutes are barely worth watching and they fucked it up by the scary demon face thing right at the end. Would have preffered to other ending where she gets shot by the police...

Yeah the bit where she rocks back and forwards for ages is much better.

The only movie that has come close to scaring me was the Exorcist 20 years ago - it's dated now - anyway - thanks for the reviews - I'll wait till it's on DVD. I saw the forth coming / event - whatever it's called - what a load of crap - but my mate loved it / scared him :D

Paranormal Activitity is one of the worst films I have ever seen, only 2 scary bits in the last 20 minutes. The scariest film I've ever seen is Drag Me to Hell absolutely wipes the floor with Paranormal Activity

Yeah DMTH was great! Loved Blair Witch too but that's mainly because it reminds me of the more haunted parts of Hampstead (Heath and Highgate)...
