They were called 'shinies' round my way, you were king if you had a Liverpool/arse/manc shiny on your pencil case.

Yep, shinies. I'm sure there was a trick to try and feel if there was one inside the pack without opening it, as they were thicker than the normal stickers.

I always remember at primary school that there was one lad who always had the latest stickers and he would be like the swapsies king he used to carry them about in his pocket with an elastic band round them. Ahh simple pleasures

Jamie Clapp's dad owned the local newsagents, he always had loads of stickers

My first year was 1985, collected up to about maybe 1990 I think. Now I only do the World Cup ones
