Pancake Day!

Despite posting on this thread, I've not read it, and I've only just discovered it's today after a friend posting a picture of herself eating a banana pancake in Thailand

Now I'm getting Facebook threats that people are going to ring and remind someone it's pancake day so I'm going to have to go and make some before I'm grassed up

i want pancakes :( It's rubbish eating them on your own though and way too much effort :( Maybe I'll buy one for breakfast instead

I ended up making corn pancake thingies as I CBA to go the shop for eggs and I had a bag of stoneground cornflour that's been lurking at me for ages.

I don't understand that stuff. It's not really much hassle to sift some flour, crack a couple of eggs and whisk it up with milk then leave it for half an hour.

Saves on the mess and (in my case) trying to get the lumps out. (I didn't buy any mix btw as I forgot). Kitchen mess is for himself to clean up ;)

I. Feel. Sick.

Just eaten fuck loads of savoury and sweet pancakes.

Savoury: Garlic mushroom, shallots, cheese.
Sweet: Chocolate ice cream, sugar, jam, strawberries, banana.

Oh dear.

I just had the first lot with leftover dhal, and now working my way through the vanilla and sugar ones. I'm aiming for spend nothing day but I think I will be out of fags soon.

golden syrup, sugar, lemon and squirty cream...couldnt decide what to put on them so just chucked the lot on  - still got enough batter left for about 6, have put it in a thermos flask for tomorrow - will it keep ok?

Yes, just put it in the fridge and shake before you cook it.

I feel sick...

Had a couple of savoury ones, with ham, mushrooms & cheese followed by one with lemon juice & jam. Glad i had a big lunch.

If you don't eat/buy eggs the mix is ideal :)But I have an egg free recipe now :)

What's your recipe?

I don't really follow an exact recipe but these are the ingredients for one.
1 egg beaten
about 1/4 cup water
Some sweetener (2tsp?) - your call
Enough Almond meal (1/4 - 1/2 cup) to make it a thick mixture, you still need to pour it so make about the same as thick cream.

In the past I have also added vanilla protein powder that I was given.
I fry it then put it under the grill (they won't survive any flipping action)

One is enough when you add berries or whatever.
I buy a bag of frozen mixed berries each week and they are perfect when they are defrosted.

We couldn't be arsed to cook so went to the ever-wonderful Shahee Bhelpoori in Norbury.

I suddenly remember it was pancake Tuesday and had a dosa to celebrate!
