Pancake Day/Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday

Then call it whatever you need to call it when you are not in England. Go into a restaurant and ask a chef (or anyone anywhere for that matter) to make you pancakes in England and see what you get. Are you going to say "Those are english style pancakes, I wanted scotch pancakes, drop scones". The reply will be "You are in england numb nuts".
That's a point, except I'm not in England, and you're on the World Wide Web.

On pancake day where you are, does everyone make scotch pancakes? If not I don't think there is a real need to point out that we are making english style pancakes.

Do I really need to call everything all the names it might have all around the world just because this is the 'world wide web'.

"Today I ate bread "
-"Bread what's that?"
"Well it's just bread."
-"You mean 'Pan', that's what it is called in France and Japan. I didn't know what you were on about. You are eating Pan, not bread. "
"Well it's called bread here, and anyway the way bread comes in the UK is slightly differnt from Japan. "
-"Then you should call it 'English Pan' so there is no confusion. "
"But I am in england."
-"Well I'm not and you are on the world wide web. This site is global. "

Get a grip.

This is fabulously amusing!
:D:D

I made myself feel sick AGAIN last night by eating more pancakes :) but also :(

Jesus Wept. :D

I ate pancakes according to this:
They're scotch pancakes or drop scones. Like normal pancakes but thicker made with more flour. Crepes are thinner than pancakes and made with more egg :)
And according to everyine else except you.

No indeed. :D So why did you eat crepes and not pancakes?

You have already admitted that crepes are a type of pancake and that there is a difference between a crepe and an english pancake.

You have also conceded that a pancake in any form is still a cake. Stop backtracking.
