Palin didn't know that Africa is a continent

Not saying this is true!

PROFESSOR: Sarah Palin Probably Staged A Gigantic Hoax About Being Trig's Mother

An interesting footnote has emerged to a theory that raged around the Internet during Sarah Palin's candidacy for Vice President:

The theory is that Sarah Palin is actually the grandmother of her purported son Trig, not the mother, and that she staged a gigantic hoax during the campaign to cover up this fact.

Professor Bradford Scharlott of Northern Kentucky University has looked into this story in detail and written a long academic article about it. He concludes two things:

First, that the "conspiracy theory" is likely true--Sarah Palin staged a huge hoax, and, second,
The American media is pathetic for not pursuing the story more aggressively

What many people here say about Americans in general, Americans will say about Alaskans. It really does seem to be a very odd, insular place.

Terrifying that someone whose main experience is of running somewhere with a population roughly the size of Bristol should get so close to the White House
Let's face it, Arkansas (clinton) is pretty much a backwater too

My initial response to this OP ... but he is well travelled, I am sure he would know Africa is a continent. Then I realised Sarah not Micheal! Duh ..

True.

Back in 1994 I did an exchange at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire - an Ivy League uni, no less, full of the millionaire elite future corporate and political leaders - where I regularly got asked things along the lines of "New Zealand - that's in Europe, right?"

That's where my dad went to school.

yeah, I have to agree we are really bad with geography for the most part. I honestly remember only being taught about Canada, a little bit about Europe, and about Spain and South America (but only by my Spanish teacher :o)
