I dont think anyone has said that Monty isnt a better bowler than Giles (he clearly is, and could be very good, given the way he dismissed Inzamam and Yousuf today); the problem comes when the comparison is extended to fielding, and - especially given the margin between draws and victory during the last ashes - batting, at both of which Giles is by far superior.

Was nice to see South Africa give a bit of perspective to the drawn test series vs Sri Lanka too:

Just had a quick look and Giles has a batting average of just over 20 and a bowling average of about 40. That really isn't the average of a test bowler at all, and his batting isn't good enough IMO to compensate for that. I wouldn't say his fielding is that great either, he's pretty slow across the ground.
