And by the way, the principal grounds for mitigation (and I am definitely quoting the Judge there) was that she had no previous convictions. While true, that conveniently ignores the fact, and the Judge knew this, that she has two other charges of assault that are being allowed to “lie on file”.

This was done on the grounds that she pleaded guilty to this other charge. Certainly not because she has been found not guilty of these assaults. And that gives lie to the grounds for leniency of the offender presenting no risk to the public, if there is reason to believe this was not a one off.
