Over-rated actors/actresses

Can't see what all the bitching is about I like him. I think he's a good actor and great eye candy. :o

I'm not bitching I just find him wooden. He's handsome enough though and I doubt I'd throw him out of bed if I went gay.

Also this is going to sound harsh because he's a kid but Daniel Radcliffe is absolutely shit. He can't make a facial expression properly for some reason. Even the kids you see in neighbours or children's programmes are better than him.

de Niro. I like him, he's very watchable but he always plays Robert de Niro. Same goes for Christopher Walken.

I can't watch a film with Cruise, Costner or Kidman in.

There's a lot of actors named here who technically aren't over-rated at all - everyone with any sense thinks they're shit, and they are.

Buy I'd propose Harvey Keitel for that baboon-with-a-stubbed-toe thing he seems to think is appropriate whenever the script direction says "show an emotion".

I don't think Daniel Radcliffe is that bad. He was pretty good on Extras.
He certainly isn't as bad as that Draco Malfoy kid. (bless him)

Sean Penn's gig is a masterclass in action of overegging, mugging, cloying method acting of the worst kind. He just can't keep his fucking head still for a second. Lots of movement and lots of noise doesn't make you a fine actor.

I avoided watching any Sean Penn movies for years [aside from Fast Times at Ridgemont High], because I didn't like him personally. Then I watched The Assassination of Richard Nixon, and was totally blown away. IMO, he's one of the most gifted actors of his generation.

Yes!

He is awful in everything :(

I watched "Children of Men" again yesterday and yet again was blown away by it, including the performances. I really would need someone sitting down with me and point out where and why exactly Clive Owen's acting is lacking in that film. I think he is excellent and gives an understated and yet very moving performance. He goes through just about every emotion imaginable and he doesn't strike a wrong note once.

I just don't get the Owen haters :(

I enjoyed that film. I think he's a good actor. Was good in Croupier, Gosford Park and was one of the only people acting in Closer...

Like everybody else he gave an appropriately stylised performance in Sin City. The acting wasn't supposed to be naturalistic or "good" by conventional standarts. The actors were emulating the performance styles of actors in pulp films from the 40's and 50's, which after all is what Sin City was referencing.
