Our species is going nowhere

Whats wrong with hope sometimes its all you got to cling to .And sometimes its pays off those moments are worth all the pain in exsistence.

Nothing will ever save us from extinction, not even science. Let's accept this, then discontinue our species now rather than waiting for it to happen later. It's the most logical thing to do; just stop procreating, then kill all the animals. We are going nowhere but death/extinction, the only question is how much more millions of good people will suffer on the way there.

Discontinue, then kill all the animals. It's the only thing to do in this hopeless universe, and I dare you to give me a good reason not to.

Seriously - your anti-hope agenda has FUCK ALL to do with atheism.

Without 'god', the magical man in the sky, there's no hope of JPELCU. 'Atheism' has everything to do with my hopelessness; 'god', the magic man, is a plot voucher who brings about JPELCU.

What, so you don't think that humans, thinking without the benefit of the Shiny Office Rubbish Bin, can actually work things out for themselves, or you're no atheist at all.

I suspect the latter.

 why do peeps have to put labels on them selves?

Atheism isn't really a label, it's an intellectual position - much as saying 'I'm a gullible fool who believes in a God', altho that isn't an intellectual position, it's dumb.

You can't. deal with it. we did. Take control of your fucking wants and desires, ffs.

What?

I don't even know what you're saying.

If you're implying that humans can make JPELCU happen by themselves, you're wrong. Only a magical plot voucher, like a magic man in the sky or a magic wand or a magic genie, could give us JPELCU. That will never happen, so let's kill all life on earth.

I don't. What now?

You DON'T need that jecplu stuff. Did someone tell you you did, and you believed them? Make your own fucking rules!

Fine, but don't claim that atheism has nothing to do with my stance on life- 'atheism' (reality, the absence of a magical plot voucher) has everything to do with my discontent, and don't claim it doesn't.

you rather binary on the issue

can't you perhaps admit that even though life ain't ideal it's got some quite nice bits

and if you still don't think that why not just kill yourself and leave the choice up to everyone else?

Almost all humans in the past 150,000 years have wanted JPELCU, or some variation thereof, which is why we invented the magical plot voucher 'god', the magic man in the sky who brings about the JPELCU we naturally crave (b/c we're apes with too much awareness and thus we yearn for more than this world has to offer, to quote the lyrics of a hit by an unfortunately xian band :) ). You may deny any desire for JPELCU, but chances are every human being wants JPELCU, even if some like me want it 50 times more than others like you.

You may not crave a twinkie right now, but if someone was giving them out for free, almost everyone would take one. Same with JPELCU- if JPELCU was an option, you'd take it, even if you're okay without it as you claim.

Most of the world's population craves JPELCU very much, which is why they find hope in the magical man in the sky who will make JPELCU happen. I'm one of the cravers, but sans the magic man, so I'm pissed like Schopenhauer.

Killing myself wouldn't end the suffering of the millions of good people who suffer terrible physical and emotional suffering each year. I care about them, and would end all life on earth to end/prevent it.

The problem with telling me to kill myself is that I care about a lot more people than just myself. That's my burden, my curse.

But it would end ours...

BTW, the Shiny Office Rubbish Bin is a competing faith to that of the flying spahetti monster.

ummm if they are suffering.... they can kill themselves too

think of it like in an aeroplane when the oxygen masks fall... always kill yourself before killing others

plus for all those that are suffering there are those that are fairly happy with their lot... or do you belive that everyone has the same opinion as you? if not how can you justify mass murder

Yup, I reckon we can. I reckon we are smart enough to create a world that is more fair and more just - and surely the point is to TRY and to keep trying.

As opposed to your can't be arsed attitude.

I'm sure it's the trigger for your current state of mind, but remember it's possible to change your reactions over time. Think about the grief someone feels after losing a loved one, compared with how they feel about it 10 years down the line. The mind can heal itself, and your mind could do with some healing - it seems a very unhappy one.
