Our cat has gone missing

Have you knocked on doors yet?

I just went over the road and asked a man to look in his shed. It's the only shed I know of round here. Hendo's asked the neighbours and the local kids to keep an eye out.

We're going to print out some "Have you seen our cat" posters today and put them up on lamposts.

I think she may be gone for good though. :(

Don't give up hope. Honestly. I thought exactly the same thing when my cat went missing. And she came back. Lots of cats do :)

But I know what it's like & how awful it is waiting and not knowing :(

I wouldn't give up til she's been gone over 2 months with no-one seeing her. Our cat 'goes' on holiday in the summer. We don't see her for up to 6 weeks sometimes. The first time she did it was a bit worrying but we don't bother now.

She doesn't go far though, only to the greenhouse a few doors along

Hope you cat comes home safe and well asap :)

Fingers crossed for Lottie :(

I fell for her on one of the other cat-threads, the timid little kitty with the sad eyes who made me go awwwww.

Hopefully she'll be home soon for some bacon treats.

That is very true from other people I know whose cats have gone missing....

Please try not to give up hope - she may have gone on 'holiday'....

Keeping fingers crossed for you x x x

Don't give up hope. My friend's cat was missing last week and it came back last night, she spent about £100 getting it chipped on it's ear and it pissed off again this morning and she hasn't seen it since.

We made one of those sad little posters yesterday which hendo is photocopying at work today. Still no sign. :(

my cat went missing for 14 days once
id compleatly given up hope of seeing him again and said my tearful goodbyes :(
then out of the blue a friend knocked on the door and had him in her arms we couldnt beleive it, he didnt stop purring for 3 days and didnt stop eating for that long either :)
she had found him 3 streets away on the otherside of a main road colse to the railway bridge that connects my garden to there
he was obviously lost and hiding under a parked car.
my friend knew him well as had catsat several times so she called him and he came to her and she brought him home.
I think he ran into a fox and hightailed it as fast as his little legs would carry him and when he stoped he was lost
so the moral is dont give up hope and go for long walks round the neibourhood in the evenings when the streets are quiet and if you aint too selfconcious call her she may be lost and just waiting for you to come pick her up
good luck I know how hard this can be

Last time I made a poster for a missing cat, he appeared the next day. He has a habit of being very curious and getting locked into cupboards, strange people's houses and garages.

Hope your cat comes back soon.

Sorry. Heartless. But funny before I read this thread. The boa is (it is alleged) in Manchester and I doubt it's got the wit to catch a train...

Hope yours turns up. The whole point of cats is that they do what they damn well please...

Has she been "done"? Do cats that have been done still elope?

Only just seen this.. you must be beside yourselves.... I hope she turns up soon.... wish I could do something more practical though.. if you need help sticking posters to trees??

One of mine went missing for 2 hours when I first started letting them out and I called the vets, knocked on all the neighbours doors and ended up scouring the long grass in the park in tears like a demented woman!! Of course she was in a drawer or cupboard or something...

I really hope she comes back to you soon...

we seem to be suffering from the opposite problem at the moment - I really hope Lottie turns up but if she doesn't, we've got a spare one you can have ...

Thanks everyone for your kind words and PMs.

I'm sorry to say that this story doesn't have a happy ending. We found out last night that Lottie was killed on Railton Rd - probably the night she disappeared. We got a call from a lady who'd seen our posters, and had seen her body on the road on Monday. :( :(

It's very upsetting, but I'm trying to tell myself that at least we gave her a good home for the last eighteen months. She was a rescue cat, and had obviously had a tough life because she was never very confident around people. She was treated with kindness here, and obviously found some feline measure of happiness because she hardly ever left the house!

We had already decided to get one of the Albert kittens, who will be arriving in a few weeks, so Harvey won't be an only cat for long...

RIP Lottie.

Fuck, I'm so sorry to hear that :( :( :(

Hope you are both OK - I know how awful it is when this happens :(

RIP Lottie sorry to hear that, our first kitten we got when we were married got ran over, i know how you feel - but Lottie was lucky to have good owners for the time she did. :)

That's so sad - I was really hoping for a happy ending.

Poor Lottie. Like you said, at least you gave her a good home for the last 18 months of her life.

((((((Ms T))))))

How sad :( I'm so sorry to hear that.

My cat got run over when I was around 10. Was very distressing to see her lying in the road like that. Glad you didn't have to see that as well.

RIP Lottie.
