Our Bodies – Ourselves:

preposterous sloganeering style
I know it's a Terribly Serious Thread and all, but this bit did make me :D

I can imagine you posting about some new shoes that you bought -- somehow, it would still be full of CAPITALS, the first person plural and references to the destruction of the middle class. And it would still read like a string of catchphrases written by somone else.
More than mildly amusing... :) And true, I fear.

...and this isn't about Middle-Class. It's about disability. Dignitas also offs people who are not in pain or suffering a terminal illness. There was the sporty lad who broke his neck and couldn't handle his paralysis, and the conductor was losing his sight and hearing.
There is a real fear about this whole issue for people with disabilities. Hitler started by offing disabled children and there was a lot of propaganda about 'Mercy' killing as well as calling people with disabilities 'useless eaters'.
There was that propaganda film, Ich klage an, about offing people with disabilties as being a kindness. Don't dress this issue up as class war, it's eugenics of the most chilling kind.
www.imdb.com/title/tt0033750/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics So we are clear how some people debase what is been said here, when i say Make The Middle Class History, i mean it in the context of a socity with out class, also in part humour, i posted the link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Kevorkian “dying is not a crime.” to make it clear it was not about eugenics it very much about The Class War where our class are killed to defend the privalages of The Middle Class, of course i do understand about the right to death very much so, agreed a little sick in the humour but some people will just take it out of context due to fact who wrote it and not place this debate in the right context, but we come to expect that from The Middle Class, they will always debase the working class and themselves.

It's never that you are being daft is it? Or that your analysis is shite? Or that you totally lack social skills and can't get on with anyone?

So an old conductor that would struggle to look after himself and his terminally ill wife choosing to end their lives together is... the middle class killing the working class?

Good thing that he clarified "not you kabbes", because I was all ready to totally get up in his shit.

No, I'm saying that for disabled people it reminds them of the mindset that we're better off dead.

OK but that's not the message I get, I certainly feel that the clinic has a purpose to serve and under the right (or rather wrong) circumstances I would consider using their services.

So was this said when Class War atacked The Middle Class of course not, you still have not given any thought if you agree with Makeing The Middle Class History, you have just debased myself, just why do i lack social skills and can't get on with anyone? is this fact or just another crass remark?

If it is about removing class divisions altogether, why not call it Making the Working Class History? It would be just as accurate.

where our class are killed to defend the privalages of The Middle Class

If you are representative of "your class" then no wonder it fails so hard. I assume correct spelling is an elitist concept of the privileged that you choose to rebel against?

To quote Stephen Fry: the only really upper class biscuits are the ones that you get your pastry chef to make for you.

I don't know why you lack certain social skills but it's clear that you do. You routinely attack anyone who questions your assertions as either being middle class or supporting the middle classes. You never seem to take into account that you may be wrong on any subject whatsoever.

Ergo you are a muppet.

Oh, and title of this thread was what brought me here...all the ladies of a certain age on Urban recognise it as The feminist health book of the 20th century.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Bodies,_Ourselves

i bought that the other week and lent it out before i started reading it...

All the women I knew who had the book just liked the wank fantasies towards the end.

i think i might ask for it back :hmm:

That picture has more muppets per square millimeter than anywhere except the House of Commons.

he appears to want to keep the upper classes though, he never seems to mention them

I suspect he may be a toff

You're right -- it's all an upper class conspiracy to keep the rest of us in our place!

It's all such a complicated issue. I'm not against assisted suicide per se.
I do believe that this country should sort out palliative care and support for people with terminal illnesses. Don't start me on care for the elderly and people with life-changing disabilities or I'll be here all day, ranting.

So now i attacked you as being Middle Class, still you have failed to give any real debate just continued to debase me one as human two working class..

who said i was the vangard of my class, and for the correct spelling it is called DYSLEXIA perhaps some need
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics to take care of them?

Of course all other options should be attempted beforehand, I'm not advocating assisted suicide as first aid ;)

Have you issues with your dyslexia? Technology has really improved life for people with disabilities. Electric wheelchairs, computers with speech, spellcheckers. Don't buy into the 'tragic but brave' stereotype. It's like crawling along the pavement instead of using a wheelchair. Use what will improve your life, e19896.

...they're not being attempted beforehand though. The UK has an appalling set up for pain relief and a shocking lack of assistance for people who might then end up just deciding that they want to die because they can't bear another moment.
