Ouch! (Anderlecht vs Strasbourg - warning: graphic football injury)

This longer version of the original injury (Anderlecht) is quite interesting. The director doesn't seem to mind about showing a fair amount of detail. For example around 2:40 they show the poor guy's reaction and his floppy leg.

Ow. Looks like the bone just properly broke.. completely. Hope they had some morphine handy.

Because it's a clean break it should, in theory, heal okay. Wonder what UEFA's doing about this then?!?!

If this guy never plays again can he sue the other club like that man u player did with Middlesbrough? Does anyone remember the story I'm talking about, or did I hallucinate it?

Certain fouls should be treated as a criminal assault- they'd certainly be outside a football pitch.

I'm still amazed that this cunt was never done for GBH tbh...

The clue is in the shirt he is wearing!

And that is why studs up should be a straight red, regardless of whether you get the ball, or even if you miss everything (Palacios on Ronaldo in the 5-2 was shocking).

And after the straight red, they should be banned for about 10 games, minimum.

Agreed. Outrageous.

Much worse than the Lucas Neill on Carragher.

A lot of folk get their knickers in a twist about diving, but don't have anything to say about stuff like this.

I'm with Wenger in that diving is fuck all compared to GBH.

It's an irrelevant comparison.

Witzel (the tackler) has been banned until the end of November, probably by the Belgian FA rather than UEFA. Apparently he is appealing.
