Organising the Xmas team lunch at work

i think it is connected to a failed campaign a few months ago, when nandos had the audacity to try and open in stoke newington church st.

I thought we were anti big business and that destroying area character? Or is that too middle class to admit to?

i didn't see it as anti big business tbh, I saw it as a predominantly white campaign against a business that attracted a lot of black customers

Funny lot, teachers.

Funny lot, colleagues basically... It's amazing the way people seem to behave as though the whole thing should be organised around their own particular wishes, without any comprehension of the fact that other people are going too! Last year when I was organising it I had several people say flat out "Oh no I'm not going there". Quite apart from anything else I felt it was incredibly rude to me when I'd taken a lot of time and effort to research the various options and consult people.

This year the boss decided where we were going and booked it unilaterally without consulting or even telling anyone. Result!!!!! :)

always the best option - a dictator boss :D

not an issue at my office, 2 full-time staff, and a couple of part-timers, me and the other full-timer are going for a drink, and might have some peanuts and crisps:cool:

I think I've posted this before but in my previous team there was 6 blokes and 2 girls so they picked what we did.

Curry at 12 (for a start it was far too early for a curry and I felt sick all afternoon), a pool tournament then to the shitty Litten Tree. I was home by 6 because the team sex pest got lairy and started a fight with our team leader and my mate and had to be taken home. Never again.

Our department is split into different locations, so we all go to one venue for Xmas lunch, which is lovely, and expensive, and which the company pays for, but pretty much everyone has to drive so there's no drinking. Possibly it's as far removed from Sparklefish's experience as it's possible to get!

I see.

Maybe segregated activities are the way forward! :D

Thank god, I'm no longer on that team. :D I like a piss up as much as the next person but I like my nights out to be slightly classier (not much more tbf). ;)
