Orbital play Brixton Academy!

they were absolutely aces in Birmingham on the first night.
much, much better than the farewell shows in 2004 when they seemed to stare at each other for 5 mins between tunes wondering what was next - it's a really sharp set with hardly a pause for breath. there's even some new stuff and they've reworked a few bits and pieces. total win.

Not sure what time Orbital are on but the special guests are said to be Delphic, who supported them at the Leeds gig. I found Delphic a bit "meh" myself but others seemed to like them.

A whole bunch of us will be meeting at the Prince of Wales for pre-gig drinks. Someone else has suggested the Canterbury, but it would be nice to meet some urbanites for the first time at the PoW, seeing as I will have just moved in to Brixton by then.

Went to the Manchester gig last friday. Absolutly ace night. Full of 40 yr old used to be ravers myself included.

went saturday gig in manchester... Orbital were fooking rocking, as expected

quick moan.... Delphic were shit. and apart from long periods of no music at all, they had a DJ on i think (or maybe just a cd) playing classic techno like vortex and lfo etc but the sound was turned right right down tho which pissed me off

I'm off to the Academy on Thursday, been there a few times but wanting/needing as many pints as possible beforehand and I can't remember what the pubs called just off the main stretch. Just over the road from the Academy, I Think its down the side of the old bill station, got some benches and frontage to it, big and square. Its kind of traditional that I must go there whenever Brixton calls!

Any ideas?

You know i was so mashed i wouldnt know I think they did box. They peaked a bit early with chime but then i was too busy shaking my ass to care what they played. Sound was great though and it was a really nice atmos.

Not sure about the wristband of the gig for £20 though

no Style - I always thought that was ace live but I've only seen them do it a couple of times. They did The Box, some new bits and bobs Chime, Impact, Halcyon, Satan, Doctor ? all that stuff
