only reason you would not turn up is that youd get fucking smashed up

by the police or the fuckwitted muppets with nothing better to do with their time than make dicks of themselves protesting against the police protesting about their wages.

And how are other unions and workers meant to have solidarity with the group of people who break up their pickets lines and undermine their strikes?
I'll remember that the next time the coddytrotties are asking us to show solidarity with the same managerialist arsewipes that threaten to sack and discipline us the rest of the time.

what managerial strikes have they backed?

i've no intention of supporting the police but that comment is just cuntish on any level.

And whilst i'm not going to line up with the pigs to campaign for higher wages when the shits are happy battering other workers striking for theres I'll certainly not be turning up to protest like a sad tosser, especially since this issue is tied into a wider pay freeze on public sector pay.

Says the king of cuntish comments...:D

And what dispute would that be? If you remember rightly I've said managers shouldn't be allowed in the unions.

And too many unions seem to be infested with management fuckers to the point the workers are a marginalised minority. In many workplaces the managment now outnumber the workers, too, who are being made extinct as a workplace phenomenon in many areas. It doens't stop the coddytrotties from bleating "solidarity! fantastic! brillient! The new proletarianised proletariat!" and other such vacuous, panting ethusiasms about them. This makes their stance with the police dispute uttery hypocritical.

We've had this discussion many times before.

Sadly you are right. My union leader is on some members sponsered green themed junket whilst the actual union on the ground is shit. He should be looking after his members not his fucking ego.

Well it wouldn't be easy, but I reckon it would be worth making the effort especially as the result could be beneficial.

We've seen reconciliation in South Africa, when just about everyone, including me, was expecting a bloodbath and to a lesser degree in Northern Ireland. The repression there was extreme, long standing, went all the way to the top and has been addressed. Worth trying here I think.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of heavy handed policing against legal protest. During local protests against the BNP I've been struck in the face with a riot shield, dragged around by the neck and threatened by officers of Kent Police. I refuse to let that taint my actions or my thoughts, it's a distraction, deliberate or otherwise, from far more important things.

Hopelessly naive? Perhaps.

There's a funny piece in today's Evening Standard, a riot cop got pissed after a night out, nicked a riot van and wrecked it. They just can't get the staff these days.:p Fuckwit.

So it is admitted they are "dole scroungers", the press are going to have a field day with that.
Chy, what a silly point to make. You should know better, given your views on attacks by this government on people on particular benefits.

It isn't me going to make the point. IF the protesters are all "dole scroungers" it will be used as rod to beat every benefit claimants back. (Which is not going to make the protesters very popular.)

Whether they are or not, it will still be said.

So, do you think claimants shouldn't express their freedom of speech in case the Daily Mail has another go at folks on the dole? If so, you're having a go at the wrong target.

So is anybody going?

After all, it wouldn't take that much to get on todays headlines ;) :D

So far it is the top news item on TV.(Well that and some actor I have never heard of dying.)

They can't be actively seeking work on a weekday and protesting.
(It really is as simple as that, it puts every benefit claimant in a bad light, especially with the impending "welfare reforms."

are the police being allowed to march through the area around parliament which has been off limits to other groups?

Of course they can - all they need do is meet the terms of their JSA Agreement which entails taking a certain number of specified steps each week. No JSA Agreement, as far as i'm aware anyway, specifies that every activity you take part in 24/7 must be a jobseeking one.

You know that, and I know that, unfortunately the general public doesn't.
With benefit claimants now being the scapegoat for most of the countries ills, the "anarchists" are not going to be doing benefits claimants any good at all.

Does anyone know if they're planning to do it in uniform?

:D

There were loads of plainclothes on the tube this morning.

They may NOT have been police of course, but the fact that they all got on together and sussed some colleagues in the next carriage, leads me to think they were. And of course they looked like coppers :D

Jesus, do you have to submit time sheets as well now?

yep, they all had these largeish things in their pockets

or could that have been something else?

No, I could tell they were coppers because of the air that is taken on by a group of people on an outing for the day
