We got the biological facts, and had to watch a film about date rape from the victim 's point of view. "Don't be that guy" was the message.
That's what we got.
Plus some other anti abortion type bullshit like this stupid video about a girl in the US who'd got preg with about five different guys as the potential father. Anyway AFAIR she took all five or however many it was to the cleaners for the cost of the abortion and so not only got her abortion paid for but made a nice butty for herself as well. And we were supposed to be disgusted I think. The consensus on our table was good on her.
And TBF, the school (Catholic), did bring in a guy with AIDS to talk to us about safe sex n that (and this was in 1989) - And it wasn't along the lines of Repent or this is how you'll end up, it was more along the lines of this guy saying whatever you do or don't do, just be careful.

Today I read socialist worker on this. Someone called Sadie Robinson contrived to fuddle her way thru the facts
regarding the issue where girls are made to sit at the back of the class. She had this to say,
"boys were seated near the front in maths lessons because girls were seen as less important.
Teachers have pointed out that boys were seated near the front in some lessons because they needed more help."
Given the circumstances this sounds like an overly keen acceptance of the culprit's excuses for segregation and is therefore nothing less than apology for discrimination against women. It is this form of ultra leftist knee jerking straightjacketed and dogmatic political
correctness, based on the premise that brown people can do no wrong ever, which alienates the left. Do they really think that being critical of backward religious practices of a foreign religion is tantamount to being racist? It's pathetic.
There is no mention of hounded out teachers, State school trips to a taliban run country or female ofsted staff being
openly disrespected for gender reasons. No mention of "If you don't pray you are worse than a kaffir", type doctrine that has been mentioned here, etc...
We are not talking about faith schools here, we are talking about state schools. I'm more disgusted with what's going on in these schools than with some tory arsehole trying to use it for his own agenda.
