sorry... if i never hear that song again it'll be too soon.

it's awfully shit.

Release the hounds!

(I was expecting Dub's response, so he gets away with it - although Dub, did you like it the first time it was released as a dance tune?)

Foo: Dunno if I count as young anymore (fuck, I really don't do I :().. but yeah, of course I've heard of it!

sorry, as i typed i realised it was a 'classic' so most people old and young probably do know it.

When I Think Of You? :)

Janet Jackson? I'm loving that one. :o

And I can't get Kylie out of my head.

Teenage Kicks is great, and there is a sanitised Busted version for the younger generation.

But my vote goes for ... Blondie: Heart of Glass. Or Abba.

if the thread is one song that everybody likes, and you're posting one that you admit hardly anyone's heard, aren't you.. erm.. kinda wasting your time? :p

well it was a indirect reference to the fact i can't imagine you will find a song everyone really likes

perhaps one that just about everyone thinks is quite good but not something the would buy

now THAT is a probable winner :)

sorry, not me. i don't like it much. i think i've heard it too many times.

and it's always the one played at crap venues when you request a bit of reggae.

teenage kicks is so overplayed - its ok, but jesus.. put it down. Seems just cos john peel loved it everyone else has to as well.

I think it should be War by edwin star.
or something by U2.

Trees by Rush
There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

One Tin Soldier (legend of billy Jack)
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

you really think these are tunes more than about 3 people on here give a fuck about? are you being deliberately dense?

noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

i love ian dury singing anything  but i don't think he'll be a popular choice.

how about Kandyfloss? ;)

Someone needs to do a World Cup style knockout polls ting at some stage, of all the collated data.

*opts out of doing one*

this ain't gonna work is it...? :D

who's going to do a list of the suggestions so far and put them in a poll?

What? No Floyd?

Hurt, Another Girl Another Planet, Guns of Brixton, Teenage Kicks, Uptown Top Ranking should all go in a poll.

So should:

'Sounds of Silence' - S&G
'Fairytale of New York' - Pogues
'In a Rut' - Ruts
'Harmony In My Head' - Buzzcocks

OK what song can we all agree on that we are united in liking, if you don't agree, your turn to suggest another.

Hurt - Johnny Cash

:) that would be my choice too RB,,
I cant help but love that song(and The Man) Its like it was written
for my life story :o

(wonder whether it would be appropriate to have at my funeral) :D
