One hit wonders we have known and loved

Didn't Furniture's 'Love your shoes' also make the charts?
It didn't make the Top 40.

They also had big hits with 'I Walk the Earth', 'Don't Call Me Baby' and 'I Think I Love You'. Got their first two albums.
They may have made the independent charts, or even the Top 70, but they didn't make the Top 40 with those other hits.

I have now checked this out, and I'll give you that they didn't make the top 40 with 'I Walk The Earth', but 'Don't Call Me Baby' was their biggest hit, reaching #15. 'Monsters And Angels' made # 17, 'I Think I Love You' #25 and 'Perfect Place' #37.

So there. :p

:D Aha, I can see it now! ;) Yeah, SS are eminently notable for their solitary gleaming ingot of chart glory...

Also, I don't think they expected Current 93 to yield them any further hits...they make The Fall look like Bros! :D

John Waite - I ain't Missing You
Kenny Loggins - Footloose
Re-Flex - Politics of Dancing (One of the best tunes ever made. Most think it was Heaven 17).
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching
Wang Chung - Dance Hall Days
Furniture - Brilliant Mind
Oran 'juice' Jones - The Rain
It's Immaterial - Driving Away From Home
Robbie Nevil - C'est La Vie
Timex Social Club - Rumours
You have truly awful taste. :p

I was gonna say Wang Chung and then forgot! :D (They had a few further hits in America though apparently.)

Robbie Nevil wasn't quite a one-hit-wonder, as 'Dominoes', the follow-up, was purchased by enough sympatheticos to scramble to a modest #26...see also:
Toni Di Bart - 'The Real Thing'. ;)

bet he won't play it - or, oh no - what if it's scratched  <runs off to visually inspect record...> phew! looks alright... been in my parents' loft since 1992, and have no record player of my own to check it with...

I'm sure it will be fine - some records are just superior to surface scratching! ;)

I couldn't live without something to play all my vinyl on...although I'm sufficing with a rather perfunctory, low-range Goodmans deck at present...

I just found a copy of 'Road Pizza' by Spit on eBay - ultra rare :D - so a touch late for this PRoD, but definitely one for next time. I think I might have to bring Death By Milkfloat this time instead... ;)
