One hit wonders we have known and loved

I reckon it'd be great to form a band called The One Hit Wonders, then have two hits, just to piss people off, like.

Rockwell - Somebody's watching me
Wax - Building a Bridge To Your Heart
J.Geils Band - Centrefold
(The Mighty) Wah! - Story of the Blues
Joan Jetts and the Blackhearts - I love Rock and Roll
Indeep - Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life
Gary Byrd and The G.B Experience - The Crown
Icicle Works - Love is A Wonderful Colour
Mary Jane Girls - All Night Long
Mtume - Juicy Fruit
Orange Juice - Rip It Up
Alphaville - Big in Japan
Fiction Factory - Feels Like Heaven

Animotion - Obsession

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that both Alphaville and Haysi Fantayzee. mentioned earlier in the thread, had 2 hits each.

I wonder who's just been reading a review of the new Sugababes album...? :D

Not me, until you posted this, and made me go and look on Amazon!

Oh, I just thought of another one:

I'm trying to think. . . but the only one I can remember is 'Japanese Boy' by that singing housewife.

Anyone able to come up with more?

I believe that she was called Aneka. Also, as Hayzi Fantayzee (or however you spell it) are mentioned on here - I suppose everyone knows that the bloke was Jeremy Healey...? Yes....? Ok I'll get me coat.

yeah, and the bint (Kate Garner?) was my brother's girl friend - she went on to be quite a successful photographer I think - she phoned where I worked at the time to ask if I'd like to play bass in a band she was in - the receptionist never gave me the message .....

Broken English - 'Comin' On Strong
Timbuk 3 - 'The Future's So Bright I've Gotta Wear Shades'
Rainmakers - 'Let My People Go Go'
Milltown Brothers - 'Which Way Should I Jump'
Ward Brothers - 'Cross That Bridge'

Nope, Alphaville definitely only had one U.K hit. Well, under the name of Alphaville. They could have had one under their original name of Forever Young, though.
