One Britain One Nation, one load of bollocks

Err.. I don't remember any military style parades from school.

And the only weapons were air rifles

Pfft.

I know of at least two local private schools to me that have extensive armouries. One of which does monthly (iirc) military parades, in full uniform, of the entire student body.

In fact, I've a couple of boxes of MOD ration packs sat on the desk in front of me purloined (legitimately afaik) from one of these schools by a third party.

Pangbourne College? It's a full on naval academy basically.

Also, Reading School near the hospital has a rifle range and a big CCF contingent.

Britain has form for this anyway

My OH has just mentioned that One Britain One Nation day falls after schools have broken up in Scotland and NI...

I have a photo of my dad blacked up as an Indian for Empire Day 1948
