I'd literally rather listen to the washing machine than this.
'Eat beans exclusively' would be grammatically correct, assuming that consumption of that foodstuff would be to the exclusion of all others, albeit this would make the scansion more problemmatic. Your version implies that the only worthwhile thing to do with beans is to eat them. There may be others.I wouls swap the last line a bit..
"And exclusively eat beans"
It rolls better.. imo.

My OH has just mentioned that One Britain One Nation day falls after schools have broken up in Scotland and NI...
I doubt it's by design, probably just a happy accident, as it dovetails nicely with current government policy to wind up liberals on twitter for the lols
Britain's shitty government you mean. Don't think it's something that people across the land thought up in the middle of ww1 thinking this looks like a grand ideaBritain has form for this anyway

Empire Day
The words "Empire Day" summon up an image of a motherly Queen Victoria presiding over an Empire which spanned almost a quarter of the entire globe. However it was not until after the death of Queen Victoria that Empire Day was first celebrated...www.historic-uk.com

cheers for this - it's more or less as i'd thought. Here we go.

Soz you took my in with your dg front cover from 1916 which says it's the first empire day to be held under government authority24th May 1902, until it evolved into commonwealth day after ww2 and was gradually ever more ignored.
Could be, but I think it also could be that it was recognised it would be a total PR disaster in Scotland and NI. But you can't expressly exclude them, so exclude them by a convenient cock-up instead. Perhaps. No it's an England campaign brought forward with no planning or forethought as to the rest of the UK.

That's exactly it.Trying to work out what's going on with this, cause while it's true there's a single DoE tweet promoting this weird shit in three days, I'm not aware of there being any other direct promotion or instruction by the government - I think claiming 'UK schools are being asked to celebrate' it is a stretch.
If you go to the OBON twitter account (who've gained a mighty 18 further followers since we last discussed this) they're retweeting schools who are involved, and they are without exception in Bradford. There's no national campaign to get schools to sign up or anything. The only people talking about this are outraged liberals on twitter - it feels to me like it's just trolling really - just stirring the culture war pot, like they did with the 'white privilege' thing this morning too.
I'd literally rather listen to the washing machine than this.
it takes quite a bit of digging to work out wtf it is though, not really surprising people are taking it at face valueThat's exactly it.
...and the usual suspects on #edutwitter are lining up ready to jump on it.
Oh, the useful idiots don't care about the actual thing though. They're just waiting for a chance to have a go at woke lefties.it takes quite a bit of digging to work out wtf it is though, not really surprising people are taking it at face value
sure, and then you've got people like this dickhead, who did numbers yesterday by adding some completely made up detailsOh, the useful idiots don't care about the actual thing though. They're just waiting for a chance to have a go at woke lefties.
Nòoooooooooo! My ears!Oh that's really shoite.
