Wow! £17k.. From an investment viewpoint, I'm wondering if getting this work done is built into the value of your house.. or err, whether its only money down the drain.. I don't want to spend shedloads if I'm gonna move in acouple years..

I bloody well hope it adds value! We're extending the mortgage to pay for it. Seriously, get your sashes refurbished and draughtproofed rather than replaced, if possible. It's only because our frames are totally shagged that we need replacements.

Sod the duvet suit, what you want is a slanket.

Mine's a life saver working from home in a drafty house.
 
Triple glazed here & 5th floor. Don't even have to turn the rads past 2...even when it's -5 outside

I used to have ice frost patterns INSIDE my windows when i was growing up, used to get dressed under the duvet.

this is what we do :) have been looking for the palstic film that you put over windows then seal with a hair dryer but cant find it anywhere. any ideas?
