On this thread we are not going to Glastonbury

Bloody champers and hampers type complaining they weren't told it might rain, so they have no wellies or wet weather clothes.

Fucking cunts

Aye. I'm fucking jealous. A friend of mine even has two backstage passes. He's wasting the other one on his girlfriend

I hope it pisses down and they all get pneumonia

I saw a bunch of little bands that I never heard of again - Loop Guru anyone?

I have nearly everything they ever recorded
Thanks for making me check their website ;)

Just got my tickets for Ashton Court - 12 quid for 2 days, no falling over in cow poo if it rains, walking distance from home . :)

.. all that's needed is a sensible finishing time and Orbital to make a surprise visit (and only play stuff from the yellow and brown CDs) ... :D

What year was this? I have seen them twice at Glastonbury & they were fucking ace both times.

So there.

:p
Sorry have to agree with Onemonkey here. Saw Orbital twice too, & thought they sucked. But then again I prefer something much much harder! :p

I knew storms were forecasted for today but didn't think they'd be that bad. Poor sods - bet WoW is miserable!

Bring on Ashton Court...

We were going to go with the baby this year. But all in all it would have cost us - best part of £400. That's a lot to gamble on the British weather.

Gonna go to somewhere hot in September instead.

Glad we didn't go. Heat, thunderstorms etc with the baby would have been awful!

I can say I had a good laff when I heard it was raining. I've done a Galstonbury mud hell and it wasn't much fun. This is all just envy talk really.

But having been 6 times for free, the initial excitment of being surrounded by the masses all tramping over yer to watch whatever favourite band of the moment has subsided. Can't cope with everybody going to the greenfields to get away from everybody therefore creating queues and bottlenecks everywhere.

On a positive note, still had fantastic times when I did go. :D

I've got loads of "Thank fuck that's not my tent  " pictures like the one above from when I went in 1998. There is a particularly poignant one of a lone tent poking out of what looks like a lake.

Cor, Loop Guru! That brings back memories. First saw them at the much-missed Deptford Urban Free Festival in 93 (I think), then a few times afterwards at various Club Dogs/Megadogs. I went to the Deptford festie every year religiously from 91 to 95 - wish they'd bring it back.

*drifts off in fond memories*

So do I!

But Orbital will always have a special place in my heart.

:D

great photos - look like that fella is having fun. Can't be any worse than swimming at the ponds on Hampstead heath!

My initiation into the dance scene was seeing Orbital at New Trinity, Bristol in April 1995 - I still have the ticket :D

I find their early music pure, almost "baroque" in its simplicity. Unfortunately they then bought a shed load of samplers and their recorded music at least became a little "cluttered" to my ear ... (a la Mozart's "too many notes")

I first heard then in '94. First saw them at Glastonbury the next year.

They can do no wrong!

Anyway, look at the floods!!!!!!!!

Let that be a lesson to anyone - don't try to take half your house with you - a 20 quid tent and a clean pair of knickers is all I'll take if I decide to go in 2007 ... I always attach my keys to myself wherever I go ..

Fuck those pics are shocking! A bit of mud, water & rain I could cope with but not to that extent. Sheesh! :(

I first heard 'Chime' at a rave in '89.

It was so amazing, I was convinced I must be imagining it.

-As you do... :o :D
