Matmos - Plastic Anniversary

You've got to love an album whose first track is made up entirely of them breaking records by Bread, and calling the said song Breaking Bread.

One of those bands I've yet to work out the attraction of. I thought I'd revisit them after several years of silence, but they still do virtually nothing for me.

I try really hard not be too contrarian about this, and listen to it periodically with an open mind. It has some good stuff on it, but I can never understand the slavish devotion it elicits from some, when, to me, The Bends and Kid A are both superior.
I would choose The Bends over the other two, much more listenable

I picked this up for a fiver in HMV the other day. I already knew the original, and this seems to be that in two disc form, with extra tracks dated from 2008, 2009 and 2012. Good value.

This will be quite high in my end of year list, and this particular track will be very high in best singles:

Westkust - Westkust
Amyl and the Sniffers - Amyl and the Sniffers

Both will undoubtedly feature in my AOTY list, which seems to have a very rocky tinge as it currently exists in my head.

I don't think I was as blown away by TFS's album this year as I was with their debut. It's still a good listen mind.
