On BA Robertson and other lost figures of pop

I used to love Sign Of The Times. My mum had their album (she probably had a crush on all of them too), me and my brother used to know all the words.

I had a bit of a crush on the Belle Stars. All of them...I was an ambitious youth. :D/:o

See I preferred Jane from the GoGos, a vaguely similar outfit but seppo...

Creedence Clearwater Revival. As several people have said to me "I remember when they were just Creedence Clearwater before their revival. One of their song lines was never There's a bathroom on the right but it should have been. :D

Also what happened to Alvis Priestley? - He seemed to show promise as a sort of white boys blues artist. He sang "Keep your feet off my baseball boots" and "I haven't got a plastic liver" which was a bit too much for my sensibilities.

blancmange were at the first gig i ever went to, in 1980 i think it was, supporting depeche mode at the bath pavillion

I went to see Blancmange at the Bristol Studio. The weird thing is I can hardly remember anything about them, I couldn't even name one of their songs.

Jonah Lewie

Jona Lewie was also on the "Be stiff" tour. Most people remember him for "Stop the cavalry". Those with longer memories will know Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs and their novelty hit from 1972 about going to the seaside (forget the title).:)

It was "Seaside shuffle". Incidentally, now I've looked it up on wikipedia, I didn't know that he, like me, was born in Southampton. Wow!
