On a Rugger Tip! - RWC 2007

There's a load of good games coming up even in the groups:

Fr vs Arg
Eng vs SA
Wal vs Aus
Sam vs Tong
Fr vs Ire
It vs NZ
Sco vs It
Sco vs NZ
Ire vs Arg

being the best ones I can see, and the knock-out rounds could be quality. I've a ticket to see the QF in Cardiff and would love NZ vs Fr if the Irish can beat the French in the groups, but would definitely settle for NZ vs Ire...

Leave now, you are a twat!
Although we are going to have a shite World Cup, and quite possibly not get out of our group, I am confident Brian Ashton is going to pull us together over the next couple of years. I'd have serious doubts about that if I was Welsh.

"Gar" might be a bit of an idiot, but Boyce is a complete twunt, the kind of prick the Welsh are embarrassed about, alongside that Kelly fellow.

Jenkins has got to go - thers only one man for the job - Phil Davies.

No chance. There are no Welsh coaches (with the exception of Ruddock, and we won't go in to that) in existence at present with anything near the CV required to turn our fortunes around and ensure that another decade of Welsh rugby (with a lot of very promising young players coming through) is not squandered.

Welsh coaches are too vulnerable to parochial villagism, too inward looking, and simply not good enough technically to be considered. I count Tulip as one of this group. He's good, but not good enough.

Deans or Mallett. Pleeeasssseee!

E2A: Wholesale changes at the top of the WRU are also required, perhaps even more than the coaching side. That bunch of one-eyed, beblazered amateurs should never, never have been let anywhere near the reins of a top national sporting 'brand'

Twunt he may be, but he's not personally responsible for the accelerated demise of one of the most talented groups of Welsh players in 30 odd years. I consider GJ's transgressions against the Welsh nation to be far, far more grievous

I do have serious doubts, believe me. Ashton is a great coach and will do the best he can with what's available. The WRU quite recently tried to tempt him into a job when the whole Ruddockgate debacle was in full swing. If only...:(

Saying that, do you reckon that the style of play of the GP, the amount of games players have to play, the high quantities of foreigners in the English game, the high intensity of matches leading to numerous injuries and a seeming dearth of real promising talent coming through really bodes well for the short to medium term future of Saes rugby?

I'm certainly not under any illusions that we're going to leap into the AB's league. But the last couple of years under Robinson was seriously depressing, and it's going to be a significant improvement on that. It's all relative, as hopefully Wales will also find out soon. I don't like the home nations all being shit at the same time (Ireland excluded).

They're shit as well.

Aint that the truth :(

man, only ten minutes till the coverage starts then another half hour 'till the first of our big games!!

Hopefully we don't bottle it 'cause the argies are no mugs up front.>nervous smilie<

well that's the next 6 weeks ruined for me. The only thing worse than ITV's coverage of the game was that utterly piss-poor performance. Thank fuck Laporte is gonna be gone after the WC - we don't even have a fucking recognised full-back FFS

Now I have to hope for the Irish to beat the argies by a narrow margin which upsets me.

Gonna have to stop taking the piss out of the Irish and Kiwis for being chokers as well :(

At least my predictions for the WC are all right so far

those predictions in full:-

Argies to go through as group winners after beating the frogs and the paddies
France to go through as runners-up after humping the paddies seomthing chronic.
France to do a '1999' and trounce the ABs.

edit: then lose in the semis

Excellent, I enjoyed every second of that, apart from a couple of crap refereeing decisions.

Still, more than made up for by France's utterly shite kicking. I laughed a lot.

Excellent opener. :)

(no offence like :D)

To be honest that's part of the reason I want them to do well this tournament; sure it will be tough for them with the big three southern hemisphere teams, but I think they can rise to it.

Hope the rest of the WC goes well for them.

Yep its time teams like them ,the Italians and the Samoans start to make an impact on the tournament

Big up the Argies!

I'm still hoping for France vs NZ QF, I reckon Argentina will beat Ireland on that form. They totally shut France down, awesome.

That being said, most of their players are in Europe, so tri nations wouldn't fly. Maybe the Seven Nations?
