The problem is, she's a couple of years too young. And that's cheating in gymnastics. There's a reason why younger girls had to be banned from competing; countries were not voluntarily going to give up that advantage.
He Kexin's main advantage on the uneven bars is being able to swing between them at full stretch because she's so tiny. If she's underage, it is cheating.
I'll be heartbroken if she has to hand those medals back - she was wonderful. But China cheated, and that's not fair on the other competitors.

Jessie, I was responding to a post about He Kexin.
And just because I think you're a hysterical ignorant idiot for accusing Bolt of being on out-of-season drugs when he has no muscle to speak of does not automatically I think every competitor is clean and/or should not be punished for cheating.
Get a grip, ffs.

*sigh*
The post you responded to was by CharlieAddict who was responding to a post of mine questioning whether Yang Yun should have her medals from the Sydney 2000 games revoked, not He Kexin.
Do keep up!
But if I misread it I do apologise for being such a twat as to reply with reference one of the other atheletes being discussed on this thread. I am humbled by the sheer power of your arguments and the dignity with which you put them.well...it'd be a shame cos she deserved those medals...great winner...great champ...humble as hell too. the american coach was harsh as fuck to all of the chinese competitors - it was as if they wanted to win by default...and i'm glad they did so poorly...
how come china have a rich history of age falsication?
there was only one other story...
and they're pretty new to the games...
Well, I was replying to this post - which seems to refer to He Kexin.
China has a rich history of age falsification in Olympics competition, especially in gymnastics. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, three years after the minimum age was raised to 16 in gymnastics, Chinese gymnast Yang Yun competed and won a bronze medal in the uneven bars (coincidentally this event is also He's specialty).
Yang's passport said she was born on December 24, 1984 and turning 16 in the year of the Games, making her eligible. She later confessed in a television interview that she was only 14 at the time of the competition and that she and her coaches had lied about her age.
As in the case of Yang Yun, the existing records [on He,] prior to the Olympics -- local registries, athletic records and news articles -- were all correct, whereas the documentation she showed Olympic officials to confirm her eligibility proved to be false. It is no coincidence that He Kexin's passport was issued on February 14, 2008, a mere 6 months before the Olympics.
But if I misread it I do apologise for being such a twat as to reply with reference one of the other atheletes being discussed on this thread. I am humbled by the sheer power of your arguments and the dignity with which you put them.

true.
very true.
she was amazing.
truly gifted young lady...and i tbh, i just didn't like the american gymnast team from the start...bitchy all the way through and some of the remarks and behaviour from the coach were just mean.

can ymu and jessiedog please argue after the olympics.
you two are ruining the spirit.

ruining the spirit.

So, Charlie.
Would you really like to see no action taken against the admitted cheating in Sydney 2000?
This is state sponsered fraud, you know?
And if Yang Yilin or He Kexin or turns out to have cheated in 2008, you think there should be no penalty?
Woof
Given the long history of cheating athletes, by drugs or other means, and given the human rights atrocities committed by China in the run-up to and during the games - combined with all the other falsehoods (false singer, false ethnic children, false fireworks, false protest zones, etc), I'd say "the spirit" has already been well and truly ruined.
Forever!
Woof
they won't be able to prove it.
that's my point.
and fraud or not, the whole chinese woman's team are guilty...cos the chinese government are reported to be inolved,

tbh - this story has been blown out of proportion by the americans (sour grapes?)
what started off as little jibes turns into an official IOC investigation.

it's all bollocks anyway.
we all know the reported 53billion should have been spent elsewhere.
now we have to endure jackie fuckin' chan singing instead of modernising some of the poorest provinces...
can't of anything worse.

The controversy over He has been bubbling since the Chinese named her in their team for the Games. Her age went from 14 to 16. Two official Chinese gymnastic websites "now blocked" previously gave He's birth date as 1994.
Perhaps the most compelling evidence of He's real age is that she was cited as a 13 last November in a speech by a leading Chinese sports official, Liu Peng, when he was talking of her potential.

Yang Yun (China):
Yang competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and won an individual bronze on the uneven bars. At the time she competed under documents listing birthdate as December 2 1984, which would have made her 15 years, 9 months old during the Olympic opening ceremonies. She later revealed in a television interview for CCTV that she had been 14 years old in Sydney;
clips of the interview were removed from YouTube in August 2008.
Her competition of age of 14 was confirmed by sports officials in Hunan province.

(Also from the above link at Wiki.)The FIG has publicly stated that they view age falsification as an unacceptable practice. However, in only one case, that of Kim Gwang Suk, has the FIG elected to take any action against a gymnastics federation for age falsification.

i feel sorry for the chinese gymnasts and hold their government responsible for the lies!!!!

boris and ping pong reclamation = very sad!!!!!!
