Different textures and cloths in the film represent different people in the film

The main one of note is the purple hankerchief that is used throughout the film, the same texture also appears on the present boxes and on the walls of one of the buildings.

If you look at the pattern it resembles a spider web, which represents the web of lies spun by woo jin to catch oh dae su.

Theres a big section about the design of the sets and clothing on the extras dvd....... i really like that, a lot of films miss it out,.

For the record I know the storyline and the characters names cus ive watched it a gazillion times.

Chronologically it goes - Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance (looks at DVD shelf).

Just found this: which says that it's not a remake of the film but and adaptation of the original source material. Hmmm. Has anybody read the Korean manga?

I have (but the original is Japanese manga BTW). I don't really rate it as much as the film, too much of an overlong caper which hardly covers the time in the cell at all, which I think is one of the most interesting concepts. When the film first came out I thought it was going to be mostly set in the cell which sounded like a quite cool idea.

Well I would watch it again, except I lent it out and never received it back. Don't even know who's got it
