Old El Paso?

.....more like Texan or Tex-Mex than Mexican
I'd agree. Not overly fond but by son loves them and has on more than one occasion requested them for his birthday treat. He always makes his own salsa though which is very good indeed...his recipe is somewhere on this forum, I'll go and have a fossick in the back of the cupboard....

you bullies. i've often heard him say that there's nowt wrong with packet stuff. although i can't really link to conversations on the bus, so you'll have to take my word for it. ;)

Yep, I''m being bullied. I can't step into suburban these days without an unruly monoclique mob, led by that incompomod Aqua setting about me...

:(
;)

Still, I can't say I've ever been particularly fussed whether people use prepackaged stuff or not. I champion the cause of fried chicken ffs - I'm hardly that precious.

Yep, I'll extract the mick out of people for using sugar-filled Dolmio rather than making a simple sauce out of a whole couple of ingredients, but fajita kits, although overpriced, are slightly more understandable.

And what do I care anyway - I've the excellent El Panzon on my doorstep. Great burritos and fajitas that don't taste of reassuringly smoky MSG

:p

They're nice! I made quesadillas all on my own the other day too. They aren't hard mind. I just like saying it - kaysadeeyas :)

Love them eat them about once a week - had them last night as it goes, I always add a load of onions, green and red peppers, garlic and fresh coriander to the mix. We had tinned guacamole for laziness sake - never again, still the hot salsa and green and red jalapenos hid the flavour.

Did you know Fajita refers to the cut of meat (beef skirt) - it's pretty much lost that meaning these days.

They taste alright don't they?

If you fancy making your own, then you can make a serviceable replacement for the 'fajita seasoning' mix using [/B]blackened cajun style spices [/B] and a shed load of MSG. Better if you can marinade the meat, but you can survive without it

Is this a proper thing you buy (like my favourite, ambiguous "chicken seasoning"), or do you mean fried thyme and oregano and whatever?
