Old Bill "swoop" on 3 clubs

Aye, it's Pompey.

Reckon it's the Amdy Faye transfer to Newcastle a few seasons ago. Newcastle have to be the pivot tbh, as we've had fuck all to do with Rangers.

Or Griffin and Andy O'Brien, who definitely class as fraudulent activity by being sold to us under the guise of professional footballers :D

It could be worse, we bought Rigobert Song and Titi Camara!! :D

Griff & AoB may not be well skilled, but they did try their best all the time.

Griff got the Winner against Juventus in teh Champs league IIRC

Ranger get Boum for Free

8 months later he goes for £8 to NUfc, which incidentally is now managed by Souness - ex Ranger hero and best mate of Murray the owner

Serious Fraud Claims Against Newcastle United

Police today raided three top British clubs after it was revealed that serious fraud had taken place over the matter of transfers between the clubs.

Newcastle are accused of selling two donkeys under the guise of professional footballers Andy O'Brien and Andrew Griffin. However in an ironic twist Newcastle fell prey to a similar scam when Rangers received six million pounds for a jersey cow masked as french international defender Jean Alain Boumsong. Newcastle were also conned into the purchase of Amdy Faye, as the tyneside club believed they were receiving Andy Henry, reportedly 'a mate of Thierry'.

Investigations continue.

And I think Souness had shares in the club at the time, which was in massive debt.

City of London police - does that mean they're London clubs (Northumbria police have already identified Newcastle) or that the offenses are under their jurisdiction? Al Fayad involved perhaps? Too much to hope Abramovich is getting his comeuppance.

Possibly not, since as I understand it the City Police have jurisdiction over a lot of white-collar crime, or maybe they've got detectives on secondment from the National Crime Squad. Detective boy would know. No football club falls within the direct jurisdiction of the City Police - all the professional London clubs fall within the Met's area.

Plus these transfers took place under previous ownership and management.

Harry weren't in charge when Faye was sold :D

I think you'll find that a certain agent will be the common factor linking the three clubs. I can say no more.

Hmmmm... now let me guess..... Monaco based?! :D

They should be relegated. Seriously. Disgusting cheats.

Oh my...

I've just had a thought. Seriously chaps, this is an honest question: do you think McCabe will be sitting on the sidelines, licking his lips at the thought of this? I mean, WHU received a record fine for, in the grand scheme of things, a relatively minor offense. It only exists to stop the influencing of matches by third party means. Now, if these clubs have been up to no good, I hope everyone can agree that it is slightly more serious than the offense WHU commited. If found guilty, what happens then? What sort of punishment should they receive?

Bear in mind it has to be in excess of £5.5 million if financial for obvious reasons.

I'd also like to state that I do not wish to see Newcastle or Portsmouth relegated over this, I'm mearly playing devils advocate.

What!

surely seeing your £ spunked away on impossibly shit footballers and nearly getting relegated isnt punishment enough ?

Its like when that Olympic Snow boarder got caught with weed traces in his piss sample his defence was " like its not exactly performance enhancing dude".

Its not like Boumsouing & Faye won us the bastard Champions league"

Psst

Sourness worked very closely with the scots one.

coincidence ?

:D oh dear graeme. oh dear, oh dear.

thing is the police said it was unrelated to the QUEST thing. Which was looking into transfers.

So why didn't they pick up this "fraud"? It's got to be through transfers hasn't it?
