Our mail has to be archived offsite too for FSA regulations. Everything gets copied to another host externally. You can't delete it there.

7 years for FSA isn't it? I used to do the IT for NBGI.

How did your boss intially find out about the e-mail and its content?

they can just read them. Everyone sends personal emails, but I was sending out 1,000 word ones 2 or 3 times a day. Sooner or later someone will notice...

No-one would check emails blocked by quarantine.

Maybe.
When I was in a rather smaller than 6000 people organisation, I was on check-the-filter duty for a while. Took about 5 mins per day and I did check the to, from and subject lines. I only deleted stuff that appeared to be scams or if the filter flagged a virus. I didn't care what else people were doing.

There were one or two people who complained about how much spam they got. Since I knew they were using their work email to sign up for crap, I made a point of letting all their spam through.

i sit here and watch pron at work during lunch, i have to ask the I.T. manager first though, but once ive had that conversation with myself I find im quite aggreable about pron in the work place
