Offline 28th June: Robin Ince, Kings Cross Hot Club, Blazing Zoos and more!

Oh crumbs - you will need a night out to set you up for a "corporate team building weekend". Are they going to make you build bridges across a stream and all that crap.

Come to Offline and tell me all about it :)

Arse, I've fucked my knee up at Glasto and now really can't walk so have to bail for the sake of the continued use of my knee.

Quite gutted as it looked a great night, though its all falling apart right now.

Ooo-er. My head!

That was fun. Thanks to the urban crew for coming down and giving it large on the dance floor and cheers to the DJs for their sterling work.

Really glad I came, the Kings Cross Hot Club were EXCELLENT musicians, and Robin Ince was a fuckin scream -- friendly bloke after the show too :)

Turn out not brilliant sadly, but I suppose Glastonbury bears some responsibility bloody wusses :D

Still recovering from Glasto aurora? ;) :p

Actually, I really had hoped to come to this but, my little boy developed a bad cough and just wouldn't settle, so I didn't feel I could leave him.

Glad it went well though.:)

Ah well, sorry to miss you, it was great :)

Hope he's better/recovering now ...

I was hoping to catch up on all the Glastonbury gossip, and would have liked a good dance.
Ah well, next time.

He seems fine now btw, typically, although he did get me up at 6am.

Well that was small but perfectly formed!! Robin Ince did well .... it must be hard with a smaller crowd but he warmed the place right up!! :)

Blimey, didn't see either gg or Crispy there, even though it was a small crowd. Ince was great and I had a lot of fun. Sat on the sofa chatting after the comedy and before I knew it, it was 2.00am and time to go home! I owe you a pint LD!

Great bill, weirdly small turn out, i guess people don't know it's free from the outside:confused:

Rob Ince was hilarious, he's a kind of comedic David Aaronovitch perhaps ? loved his dig at the christian far-right.

Robin was funny - and an excellent impressionist. His John Peel was uncanny...!

I came in for the last song of Blazing Zoos, but they sounded good too. Nice to see some proper country hoofing about on the dancefloor to them!

Wish I could have made it, but probably wise that I stayed away on this occasion, since I really wasn't well, and getting pissed in a smoky pub is not generally accepted as a cureall :D

Glad it went well, though.

well that was jolly good fun. just goes to show that a night is what you make it :) a small but tremendously lively crowd. great night but unfortunately (or rather yayyayyayyayyay) subz and i did not make it into work today.

The total lack of promotion from the club - or indeed taking care of things as basic as chuffing pub sign with 'open' on it - certainly doesn't help with audience figures.

But I had a great time and all the acts enjoyed playing the club too. Thanks again to the Urban crew for making them so welcome.

Robin Ince was great too and a lovely bloke. He stayed over at ours last night and now he's on his way to do a show with Ricky Gervais in Oxford.

I reckon:

A1 clip frame from Woolies: £9
Stout pole from a skip: £0
Three nails: £0.001
Roll of gaffa tape: £2

Instant 'Stuff on here, tonight, free' sign: Priceless.

Can I just say again that you lot were fantastic last night: give yourselves a pat on the back!

The Blazing Zoos loved the crowd response and have asked for a gig back already!
