Offline 15: Dogstar, Brixton Thurs 28th April FREE

I've overdid the caffeine (about 15 proplus tabs and a couple of cans of red bull) to get some coursework in, started feeling ill and so I couldn't finish it and hand it in. I'm having to hand it in a day late now, and I'll need to work on it for the rest of the night. In the past 36 hours, I've had 2 hours of sleep. I don't think my body can stand too much more work.

Take some good photos for us please editor!

In the past 36 hours you've posted here 45 times too!

No pity from me. :p

I couldn't expect pity from anyone :p. To be honest, I should've started this report about a month and a half ago  . To my credit, I did write about 10,000 words in my working stint. :)

That was fun! Saw an old mate I hadn't seen in ages and got far drunker than I planned. Work's gonna be fun in a bit...

I think this is what I played...

Screaming Jay Hawkins - I Put a Spell on You
Gil Scot-Heron - The Bottle
Digidub - Lion Heart
Roy Ayers - Everybody Loves the Sunshine
Bomb the Bass - Bug Powder Dust
Dr Octagon - Earth People
B52's - Planet Claire
Talking Heads - Pull Up the Roots
The Clash - Rudie Can't Fail
Gang of Four - To Hell With Poverty

I even managed to fuck up a couple of times which is quite an achievement on CD decks... :o

Another lovely and eventful night. I even got 'interviewed' for Urban75 radio! :D (I hope you've erased it Kinsales! I think I was slurring a bit)

I didn't get enough sleep though and my eyes arent' focusing properly... Yes, 'work' should be interesting today indeed!

Great stuff, TV Smith & JC001 were *brilliant* in fact I thought I should be paying to see them - it's a testamount to Editor's persuasive powers ;) and their generosity. All the acoustic acts were of high calibre, like last time. Top effort again

Offline was grand as usual (well I missed the live performances & the poetry, but twas still great). But why do I always drinks so much, so quickly!

Anyway, top night out.

:)

Good night last night, first sober Offline! Sorry we left early, I'm still not well after last weekend :( Good time had, Rob Sharples was great (bring him back on a later billing!), JC001 was incredible, and we got a lot of stuff for the radio. Thanks to all who gave up precious drinking time to answer ridiculous questions for Kinsales. See you all next month!

I had fun- despite getting there on my own and wandering around pretending to always know someone in the next room.

Nice to meet magneze and iemanja- sorry if I babbled incoherently

TV SMITH was brilliant. I really enjoyed his performance and would love to see him again some time.

I didn't feel too clever this morning and yet again I shouted at Missuz Scott when she got up as I thought it was Sat morning. :o

I always seem to leave something behind and this time it was a grey and black striped shirt. If anyone grabbed it, please do tell me. :)

Once again thanks to everyone involved. I'll post up what I played once my brain starts working again.

Oh, yes, Kropotkin! Nice to meet you too and now you know some of us you don't have to wander around anymore pretending to know someone in the other room. :D

I never told you about my exploding cornea in the end, did I? Google for Keratoconus to find out more! ;)

Loved the skinny bloke with the guitar in the main room (forgot his name :o ) - what a performance!

That geordie poet who liked monkeys is wicked..... :D

Well done djs and performers!

What a fantastic night! :D

Just been listening to some of the radio stuff and it sounds great! Wasn't JC001 amazing?? Thanks so much for your help, offshore

Lovely to meet ianw, Broken Yolk and rutabowa. :) (And to mouth at you aurora! :D)

Thanks editor :)

My mate thought he was Offshore, but apparantly he isn't. hmmm..

Skinny guy who was first up was Rob Sharples (plug plug) who's really good and came all the way from Bath for the gig. Looks a bit like Frodo Baggins as well...

My mate lost his coat, it was under the mixing desk by the stage. If anyone finds a coat without a person already inside it could be his! PM me! :)

I'll check at the Dogstar later for you, Magneze.

Amazingly, last night's ambitious military-esque timetable was more or less adhered to, with all 28 acts (28?!!) turning up on time and playing to their allotted times slot.

I loved all the live acts - the energy and exuberance of TV Smith was a particular joy to behold and seeing JC001 in action was a revelation.

But today. My head. Hurts.
