I recall news reports on the BBC last year, on how the South of England, are in the first stages of having a climate like Southern Europe, due to global warming.
Correct me if I am wrong, but has the Earth's temperature not risen since 1997?
Last year the Earth's temperature dropped by a fraction.
Have all those global warming protests been for nothing?
Even if it rains, it'll be warm. Maybe take a light one, and a waterproof.
We had no rain (last Tuesday to Friday). It was very hot.
Looks ok for the next few days: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0042
I wouldn't believe that. For the last few days, and even this morning, it was heavy rain all week except for Wednesday

Summers not over yet though...still September, that counts as summer now.

Here it seems to have been a really good year for flowers in the garden and the hedges are thick with vegetation. The earlier part of the summer was fine, mind you, August has been very rainy and cold, dull and dark. Autumnal really. The hedge rows round here are laden with blackberries ripening nicely; also seem to be plenty of scrumpable apples about. Last weekend saw both apple and blackberry pie and crumble on the table.
Yes, soft fruit is doing well. But our apples haven't ripened properly thanks to lack of sun, and taste more like cookers (well, not quite) than eaters. The hedge rows round here are laden with blackberries ripening nicely; also seem to be plenty of scrumpable apples about. Last weekend saw both apple and blackberry pie and crumble on the table.
