Off the tracks May 2008 Line up

I'm in a dilema.

I did my tax returns not so long ago, and subsequently realised that my dream of this being my first festival in a new van is not going to happen :(
We were gonna go with Moons'til and her bloke, but sadly looks like they won't make it.
My gf isn't really up for it now (a combination of finances, Rock Band coming out on Friday and a good mates 30th birthday party all day Sunday)
I'm a bit perturbed reading that all of the venues are non-smoking (are they all inside? I've never been before?) and not being able to take your own alcohol in.

Can anyone help me make a decision?
Does anyone know who's playing when? Will it be worth going and coming back Sunday morning? Does much happen on Friday? How late do things go on on Saturday?

Righty,

The non smoking parts are the bar and where the gigs are, theres a large open area just by there where you can smoke.

Alcohol can be taken to the campsite, and drunk there, and we always manage to smuggle something in :D

Sunday in the past has been a wind down time, most of the good stuff happens on Fri / Sat, it goes on as long as you want it to on Sat, not sure what time the bands finish, im normally unable to focus by that point.
 
Oh, and the last spring one I went to the main stage was outside, so smoking not a problem, dunno what it was last year coz I wasn't there...
 
Oooh I hope the main stage is outside! That would be great! :D I love sitting out in that yard with a pint and some chips and curry sauce and lovely people, it's one of my favourites.

I've got my volcano kettle and the tankards packed, now just deciding whether to bring the fluffy dressing gown and pink slippers, and planning a pub route through Derby on the way back. :D

Who else is going then? I've worked out Stig, and presumably rich!, is going with a stop off in my city of residence.

Yay! It'll be like Brum but a bit smaller. Well I look forward to seeing you all. At least I've met some of you IRL so I won't get too embarassed about going and asking people if they are aqua or bees or felixthecat. :D

Looks like we are going now afterall...:) We are not organised as we were going to do his van and prepare list on Monday but my BF has had to be busy eslewhere and then we thought we wouldn't be going. Now I have 2 night shifts to do and I have not even looked at a weather report or thought of cocktails!

I'm looking forward to it. I went once B4 at the autumn 2006 and had a grand time from what I have read the layout will be different so it will be like a brand new festival....:) Think we will probaly arrive mid afternoon on Friday.
 
You can smoke in the campsite (2 mins walk from the music) and the courtyard (right in the middle). You can take alcohol on the campsite, and if you take a tankard, you can keep nipping back to your tent for a top up. They search bags, but only in a fairly haphazard way.
