And it's a good film. Good good not good bad.
Bad Boys and other Michael Bay films are great bad movies.
But 99% of the the audience won't know it's a parody. So they end up rooting for the fascists.
I also think it's good but you're the only person I've come across who agrees so I've been pressured into filing it as bad for years. I'm confused now.
If Michael Bay movies are bad, how about Transformers? That's just brilliant.

I have a weakness for American Pie style wacky fratboy comedies with accidental spunk drinking/old lady shagging/lesbian artifacts etc etc in them.

There's only one answer in response to "do you think X is good?" You can't say "yes but no", that's not an answer. Most people will respond as to how much they like X as that is usually the thrust of the question, but even if they don't, the bad/good scale is still just one scale.
You can say "X is good even if it's boring near the end" or "X is bad even if it has a good fight scene to start with" but you can't say "X is bad but also good".

JCVD has names like Chance Boudreaux and Gibson Rickenbacker
Seagal has Forest Taft and Casey Ryback, but I think he pips it with Mason Storm.

Nope, it's like knowing the burger you just bought doesn't have a whole lot of good quality ingredients in it ... but biting into it and thinking "Yeah, that tastes good"
But they are literally made of crap. I like them but there's a tacit acknowledgment that, fundamentally, they are shit.
