October Photo Competition - Juxtaposition

Ok, I fixed it. Imagemagick refuses to work, so have switched to Gd. It's nowhere near as powerful, but I don't do anything fancy, so it all should be fine.

As you were!

Where is that?

Part of the never used in anger german WW2 Atlantic wall on the margins of Finsiterre in France.Huge Beach bunkers positoned every 1KM are backed behind the dunes section by a 3km long concrete wall approx 15metres high

The biggest, flattest, emptyiest, surfiest beach I have been to in my entire life & it was only mrs Zoltan who knew how to get there - I would not have known about it otherwise

Re Diptrich - Do we need to explian ? I will anyway

Fight them on teh beaches - children fighting in the water in front of monolithic Concrete bunkers built for the purpose of fighting - but were never used

Special Nature Reserve sign peppered with Bullet holes on Lake Skhodra betwixt Montenegro and hard core Albanian bandit country - conservation / destruction side by side ?

Thanks :) My daughter is currently very disinclined to allow anyone to photograph her. Hence the hair pulled across her face which, combined with her reflection in the mirror, made a nice juxtaposition i thought. And the framing with the mirror and the walls looked nice to me as well.

Yeah, we turned up with loads of tinned food to contribute and had to wait around for an hour and a half while jebus nattered on

Yeah, he does go on a bit.

We got there late, but only wanted to see all the kings and queens, who were all hanging around outside, or having a cuppa in the crypt, so it worked out pretty well really.

My photos didn't come out. Got a hair inside my lens :(

no 2 urban parkour (fargate sheffield uk)

Parkour (sometimes abbreviated to PK) or l'art du déplacement[1] (English: the art of displacement) is an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body.[2][3] It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment — from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls — and can be practiced in both rural and urban areas. Male parkour practitioners are recognized as traceurs and female as traceuses.[4]

Founded by David Belle in France, parkour focuses on practicing efficient movements to develop your body and mind to be able to overcome obstacles in an emergency. Also may be a form of entertainment or as a pastime.

Do you wnat some well do you fucking want some

Following on from no 1, here is my third one you see gizmo the handsome hound posing here loves this place named the ponderosa following it being a land fill in the 1970s where i as a kid played, we named it the ponderosa after the TV program. in the mid 1980s some hippys took it over and began the regeneration of the space.. In 1994 more hippys came to a school (Crookesmoor Jnr) we had taken over to talk about how we protest over the C.J.A and other matters such as the M.41 and here (so it is said) was the birth of what is now named the anti captalist movement and i still walk there on my own or with gizmo who seems to love the space as much as i do.. Check out the image.. Red Green / Blocks of Flats / Dead flower in front of Hound.. it all works as in juxtaposition..
